Wide Receiver stats lead to where we are today.

Wide Receivers since Grisham:
Cole Turner (3 star): On roster.
Brannon Spector (3-star): On roster
Adam Randall (4-star): On roster.
Antonio Williams (4-star): On roster.
Beaux Collins (4-star): On roster.
Troy Stellato (4-star): On roster/consistently injured.
Earle Hampton (no rating): On roster
Joe Ngata (5-star): NFL Practice Squad
Dacari Collins (4-star): Transfered out
EJ Williams (4-star): Transfered out
Ajou Ajou (4-star): Transfered out
Frank Ladson (4-star): Transfered out
Will Taylor (3-star): Left team
WR's since the 2020 season:
13x total.
4x hit the transfer portal
1x left the team.
1x went to NFL practice squad.
Of these 8 left over (currently on squad):
1x with no star rating.
2x 3-stars (that were recruiting by absolutely no one else)
4x 4-stars
Of the 4 stars we have on the team, last season they combined for:
Adam Randall: 128 yards total
Beaux Collins: 373 yards total
Troy Stellato: 0 yards
Antonio Williams: 604 yards
Total receiving yards in 2022: 1105 yards.
We have a statistical problem with our Wide Receivers. They're either not developed or they leave....With this many problems; it's coaching/recruiting.
Ohio State just recruited the #3, #5, and #8 WR's from 2023 - they recruited the #8, #10 and #13 WR's from 2022. In 2021, they pulled the #1, #4, and #21 WR's in the class.
Their WR coach is Brian Hartline. He recruits well b/c he produces NFL talent, yearly. We do not. There is no discussion. Our problems are the former players that Swinney hired to coach, their OVERT inability to coach.....and possibly, Dabo as well.
The Clemson-homers absolutely don't want to hear that the man in charge appears content with mediocrity and that "best" is no where near the standard, but it is.

Hartline also played 7 years in the NFL, and was named "National Recruiter of the Year" in 2020.
In his less than 5 years as an official coach with OSU, 3x of his WR's have gone first round into the draft and he's since drafted a plethora of talent to replace those that left for the NFL.
None from Clemson have.
I would imagine that nearly all college football coaches have been players at some point. Hartline panned out. Grisham has not.

Exactly, Grisham didn't have any experience either.

And it certainly shows. It's not like he was this proven coach out there that Dabo went and got because he knew him from his playing days at Clemson.
I will say this, he's really picked up his recruiting this year, for sure. If we can hold on to them.

transferring are non existent. I don't hold Grisham responsible for not getting blood from turnips. Injuries have been a big factor. We have some studs committed.
First games are weird. Cade needs to settle in so we can utilize the entire field. Let's see what happens going forward.
I'm not ready to capitulate after one game under a new OC, system and QB. To each his own.
