Usually in these situations they know where they are going before they put their name in the portal. They just have to make it look like they weren't contacted/paid before the season ended to avoid tampering allegations.

All starters who enter the transfer portal have at least one offer already, but they are more than willing to hear other suitors.

Oklahoma star receiver Nic Anderson is expected to enter the portal, Matt Zenitz reported. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound former three-star recruit played just one game this fall after suffering a lower-body injury. He hauled in 38 passes for 798 yards and a Sooners freshman record with 10 touchdown catches in 2023. He ranked No. 5 nationally with an average of 21.0 yards per catch that season. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Do we need a receiver? I don’t think a lot of people will sign up to come be a back up. Williams, Brown, Moore, Wesco will get the bulk of the offense. Randall and Turner will be back. I know we need depth but most people portal out to get more playing time. We do need 1 more tall big body receiver. Just not sure how we convince one to come.

I don’t really look for any notable portal gets until the rev share actually kicks in. Once it starts, it will be upfront money. For now, it’s just a promise of future money. Other teams will take all the top players with upfront money.

It doesn’t seem that Clemson is willing/able to compete with upfront NIL deals right now.

Conception's freshman year was outstanding. I think he had over 1000 yards. He would be a great pickup if we needed depth and a proven deep ball threat.
