Because all most of us do is talk down the basketball team.
And St. Bonny doesn't have football (no football trips) and they were playing a BB tournament in a Southern resort city.

I was at the game and was totally caught off guard.
It wasn’t just chicken fans. They were yelling and screaming walking to the gym. I was surrounded by them , and they were definitely from yankee land.
It was embarrassingly loud!

Not sure how long it’s been since you’ve been here but there are NY transplants everywhere. South Carolinians are the minority here. I meet very few people who are actually from this state.

I am the only person from S.C. in my neighborhood. Local bars will be more crowded for OSU vs Michigan than anything Clemson.
