Why isn't every game we play perfect?!

We JUST started moving the ball effectively and these clowns are already stinkin up the boards? I'll take 29 on the road against a team that beat us at home last year, especially considering we only put that many points up in a hostile house a single time in '23.

A little comparison:

2023
Scoring offense - 59th
Total offense - 68th
Rush yd/gm - 51st
Pass yd/gm - 76th
Giveaways/gm - T 101st fewest
Red zone score % - 127th

2024
Scoring offense - 12th
Total offense - 15th
Rush yd/gm - 27th
Pass yd/gm - 31st
Giveaways/gm - T 12th fewest
Red zone score % - 62nd

Still work to do and yes, the blocked FGs hurt that red zone rank, but this is huge improvement across the board. We're keeping the turnovers down and I'll take some FGs considering we were nearly the worst red zone team in the nation last year.

I am very happy with the offense. I thought the defense would be better (more dominant). I am hot unhappy with them, I just thought they would be a top 20 defense.

Some of the people on this board seem to forget there are 11 other guys (most scholarship 4* and 5* players) on the other side of the ball trying to stop what you are doing. Sometimes they win a down or two.

Those bashing the defense also need a check up from the neck up. IMHO, the only stat that matters to a defense is Points Allowed. And right now the 1s are killing it.

We need seasoned backups; those stats mean nothing if we don't win the ACCCG.***
