Dabo re-wrote that to "being great in the playoff era" or "BYOG" or whatever.
These last three seasons have felt like the opposite was true. In virtually every game we've had a better "roster" than virtually every opponent weve played since 2020.
So, why have we been ##########? Why did we lose to Louisville?
1. Hubris.
Early against Lvl one of the Lvl players got hurt. Brohm went out there and Dabo went out there in the middle of the game and just shot the breeze with him. Maybe he was trying to have some good sportsmanship... the reality is that he looked like the Big Brother who's about to DOMINATE the lil bro. That hubris has crept in and really derailed us - Look, I'm not saying that the coaches / players aren't working hard but we gotta win the games we are favored by 10.5 points. Full stop.
2. NIL.
WE DIDN'T LOSE THIS GAME BC OF PORTAL / NIL. Let me make that clear. What we are losing out on are the game changer recruits that we can no longer afford. 110Society raises about $3.5m a year for all sports. That's tiny compared to 0hi0st and some of those other doofuses. I think not being able to get those recruits on the front end is really hurting us.
3. Terrible in game adjustments.
Dabo has been beaten a many times by in game adjustments. Too many games we've lost bc the other team was able to change to something that works and we keep with the bubble screen. This one is distant, but think back to our first natty vs Bama: Saban (who is also terrible with in game adjustments) calls that onside kick and totally blindsides our team.
4. Special teams neglect.
We've been complaining about this for years. Two blocked field goals in a game is INSANE for a program of Clemson's caliber. It's embarrassing.
5. New Head set rules.
Our DC / staff has always had our own Connor Stallions. That was BVs key to success. We'd wait till they called the play, line up, and then hittem with the right Defensive call. You go back a few years to BVs last year ('21) and watch those losses: teams started to manually call plays in the huddle. Goodwin is suffering from similar.
We better fix some stuff before VT or this year is gonna start looking like last year.

Thank you Mr. Obvious. Any insight on how we can win the last 4 regular season?.. Will stay awake to hear you thoughts, but please, sooner than later, my wife will be watching "The bachelors tell all tonight" on the "Golden Bachelorette" so I plan on hitting the rack early tonight. Thanks.

For all those who were worried about my wife waking me up last night to tell me about the "Bachelors tell all" from the "Golden Bachelorette," she forgot it was on. So now, after a good night's sleep I'm ready to hear how you folks think what we need to do to win the 4 regular seasons games.
My wife did suggest that "Clemson just needs to score more points than the other team, but what do I know about football?"

I agree that NIL and portal sometimes kill us. If Louisville couldn’t have bought a 26 year QB, there is no way they beat us with anyone they would have recruited.

No downfield passing games and our lines were beaten on both sides of the ball...it is outrageous for a championship caliber team to have that many field goals blocked in a season...it speaks to poor coaching and a lack of attention to detail...we do not deserve to be in a playoff game!

We got our arses kicked at the LOS on both sides of the ball. Poor special teams obviously didn't help and may have cost of the game if it had been closer and more competitive, but it wasn't.

A couple of points in response to your post, which was otherwise well done:
1) Saban was a genius at in-game adjustments. Not only the onside kick game but there were deep plays to the TE during the game which they never did before.
2) Saban inserted Tua at halftime of a blowout NATY against UGA which they came back and won. Remarkable move to replace a future all-pro QB at that point and you can bet that our coach would never have made that move.
There are many other instances re: Saban which make him the GOAT. Those are just a couple.

Blocked FGs and cut blocks decimating our defense's health mostly. Not being prepared for UL to go 2 deep zone did not help.

When the clock got to 0:00 at the end of the 4th Qtr, they had more points than us. Some of the rules are more clear cut than others.
