Democrats only hope is that Trump keeps being Trump and alienating enough voters he will lose. Dems can't beat Trump, but Trump sure can.

He inherited low inflation and helped #### it up. He inherited low unemployment. He inherited low energy prices. His immigration numbers were on par with other bad 21st century admins. His foreign policy was trash.
None of those reasons are why you love him. You do so for much worse.

in 01/2017 was 4.7%. In 02/2020 (right before the pandemic hit), it was 3.5%.
Inflation in 01/2017 was 2.5%. In 02/2020, it was 2.3%…
The Trumpinator inherited good numbers, and improved on them a bit.

Nice cherry picking
Jul 8, 2024, 8:36 PM

First, 4.7 unemployment is good and it was already on a downward slope when Obama left office. It continued to decline under Trump. He did nothing to help this; the end of the Great Recession did. Go check the Department of Labor stats on it and look at the graph slope.
Inflation in 01/2017 was 2.5%. In 02/2020, it was 2.3%…
This is your most absurd cherry pick. This is before COVID and before Trump started handing out free money that started us on the inflation track that Biden made worse. Inflation wasn't bad before him and barely changed until his COVID gaffes.
Maybe do a little more digging next time.

and the 2 measures that seemed easiest to verify/quantify. You said Trump screwed up inflation - I was curious and looked up the numbers and then simply pointed out that he didn't.
Now - if you're going to include what anyone should have done once the pandemic hit, then I'll point out that anything you say is just conjecture. (I'm not sure what would have happened if Trump didn't hand out free money when all of the states shut down...and neither do you.)
I actually agreed with you - "The Trumpinator inherited good numbers, and improved on them a bit."
Not sure why you got so defensive...

Just not sure why you took a small sampling.
I was curious and looked up the numbers and then simply pointed out that he didn't.
Again, you really didn't; you took a pre-COVID stat. Trump's damage to inflation came during COVID and continued under Biden.
Now - if you're going to include what anyone should have done once the pandemic hit, then I'll point out that anything you say is just conjecture. (I'm not sure what would have happened if Trump didn't hand out free money when all of the states shut down...and neither do you.)
You're right; I don't know what would have happened if they didn't hand out free money. What I do know happened is that Trump and Biden flooding our market with cash has led to this inflation, and any Trumpist (please note I'm not calling you one) who cries about inflation now really is a clueless fool.
It's important these lies about Trump get defeated. He wasn't a good president and his good economic numbers were inherited. When a crisis hit, he made it worse. Biden came behind him and worsened it.

You just hate Trump and it prevents you from being unbiased. Trump inherited a decent economy and made it better. Trump and Obama handled border protection. You can’t blame anyone for Covid. Blue states shut down their entire states. Small businesses were closing by the thousands and thousands of people were dying. The democrats and republicans were pressuring Trump for a stimulus package. Which was needed. Every country in the world struggled with Covid economics. You tell me all the time that inflation is not specific to America. So is every other world leader that was in charge during covid at fault? Sweden was one of the only country’s that didn’t shut down and they were thriving. We all know the dems were the ones pushing lockdowns and masks. Absent that our economy wouldn’t have suffered near as much. Next, as you mentioned, Biden should have never passed the stimulus in 2021. The pandemic was winding down. Trump certainly made errors during Covid but who didn’t? Is he supposed to be all knowing or something? I like how you bash his foreign policies. Can you give me some specific grievances you had with his foreign policies?

I do hate Trump; he's evil and hates America.
I didn't blame anyone for Covid let alone Trump. But his response to Covid was terrible and printing free money, which any economist will tell you, is a terrible idea. And yes, the Dems equally ###### this response up.
As for foreign policy, we'll start with pushing away our allies and buddying up to dictators, even to the point of throwing our intelligence community under the bus in favor of Putin.
One of the lesser talked about fuck-ups is Trump's abandonment of Central and South American nations. He wouldn't visit them and neglected them; I can only assume because he hates Hispanic people. As a result, China was all too eager to swoop in and make a foothold there.

You’ll never get an admission about Trump’s achievements from those bought-and-paid-for people who made their livings from government sources.
These people are a subset of leftists; this subset’s morality has been purchased.
You can guess (probably accurately) about which among several of TNet’s leftists are within the ‘their morality has been purchased’ category.
BTW, the ‘purchased morality’ leftists also hate RFK, Jr. The Uniparty’s RINO and Democrat wings are responsible for the huge (and rapidly growing) federal bureaucracy. Any entity that threatens to trim down the bureaucracy and the profligate spending that feeds the bureaucracy (such as Trump and RFK,Jr) are public enemy #1 to them.

WOW, this one may be a record for you RTD. I can't tell you how many people I've heard say they liked many of DJT's policies but just did not like the crazy shidshow that went along with them. So, does "bought and paid for" count for the many conservative government workers I personally know? And just because they work for the government their "morality has been purchased". Wow, does this count for the Christian's also? This is an especially ironic statement mainly due to the abysmal morality of your dear leader. Also, please tell us again how he trimmed down the bureaucracy while "profligating"(LOL) that spending UP to the tune of a record 8.4 trillion deficit over 4 years. Wow again .... just WOW!!!

"all bets are off" situation. So, I tend to give Trump and Biden some leeway there - nobody knew what to do.
I did think it was necessary when Trump "made it rain". The first time Biden did it - I didn't like it, but I was OK with it (again because I wasn't sure what was the right thing to do). But the second time Biden handed out cash was definitely one time too many.
Carry on

If Joe has any lucidity left to make a decision, here's how to get him out of office. Tell him the Feds are going to keep Hunter under fire, they are going to file whatever charges they can based on the Laptop unless Joe drops out of the race for Kamala. He can serve out his term and pardon Hunter before he leaves the White House.
After that it doesn't matter. If Hunter is later charged for something, Joe won't know anyway.
