Because they support the concepts of territorial integrity,

recognition of the security of nation/states and their borders, individual liberty and the freedom of the people to not be killed by an invading foreign power and so forth.
And the idea that, if they want help defending these concepts with their own people from those around them who aren't particularly fond of them, they should be willing to do the same for others.

Gotta agree with unfinished_sentenc on this one, Chuckston T-Man.
If Israel were located, say, between Guyana and Venezuela, then I'd darn sure expect them to speak up.
But since Israel is located between what might be aptly categorized as Dante's 4th, 5th, and 6th circles of Heck, then they need to keep quiet about war stuff ... unless it directly affects them.
Israel is far too valuable to freedom loving nations by virtue of their global intelligence network. The more that Israel blabs about 'world issues,' the less useful Israel becomes in situations exactly like the one right now between RUS and UKR.
JMO ... this isn't to criticize your question Mr. Chuckston T-Man.
