I’m curious who out there would check all the boxes and fire up Tnet/the fan base?

He seems like a good candidate. Not a household name, but a solid base hit, maybe a double or a triple?

And CFB. Proven, smart, young, maximizes talent when there's a talent gap. Can't really ask for much more on the resume.

Lincoln Riley to USC checked all the boxes. Jimbo Fisher to aTm checked all the boxes. Dan Mullen, when he went to Florida, checked all the boxes.
Dabo Swinney checked none of the boxes. Bobby Bowden checked only a few boxes. Josh Huepl checked about half the boxes. Kenny Dillingham got the job at AZ ST only because he had ties to the school and nobody else would take the job.
It's even tougher with assistant coaches. As a fan, I have very little idea who will end up being a "great hire."

Phil Parker. Won the Broyles award as DC at Iowa when Iowa had the most 3 and outs in football. Very impressive.

He played QB, was a WR coach, a QB coach and an offensive coordinator. Why do you think he’d be a home run DC?

Kevin Steele.... give him another shot.
Or Buddy Ryan (if he is still alive)
Or Bud Kilmer
Just kidding.... but you never know. I do like the AI-generated composite of all Tigernet knowledge, experience, and calm temperament.

in terms of the Leonhard guy or maybe that guy Woody from Army who has ties to the Upstate - DC at App, Wofford and GaTech.
Lesser-knowns who show some upside are Symons from SMU or Benedetto at NIU.
This is all so fraught; between the Goodwin to OU rumors and the Brownell to Miami watch, I'm too verklimpt for words.
