Does he make a return to Clemson as a Co-Defensive Coordinator? Could you imagine Wes Goodwin's genius combined with Coach V's intensity?

I think overall Wes has done a good job the last 2 years. He held UGA to 6 points in the first half.
That being said, we will find out over the next 3 weeks how good Wes really is as we go against 3 good offense's with a championship on the line. If we hold all 3 to under 30 points, I would consider that pretty good.

Since he took over as DC, Clemson's defense has not been the same. 80th in the Country in defense, and you say he has done a good job? He coaches like a High School coach.

That was the first half. He got blugeoned by Georgia's OC halftime adjustments. Football is a four quarter game, not 2 Qtrs. If Venables is let go, Get him back to Clemson to mentor Goodwin. He is simply a superior DC.

Hey I never said he was a BV. BV is the best DC we've had since Brother Bill Oliver and probably the best ever at CU IMO. I also concede we are not as agressive. But the offense did nothing to help the D against UGA. We'll know more after the next 3 games.

Dabo acted too fast in hiring Goodwin. He made a mistake. It angers me to see when he has the "horses" he has in the DL, yet they couldn't get to the Virginia QB. Did you see North Carolina sack that guy time after time? UNC's DC did a much better job of stopping Virginia. Something is OFF with Goodwin.

Either our defensive talent is down or Wes is less than BV as our defense has not performed as well especially this year. If not for our offense coming around this year we may have another loss or two.

This defense will get exposed the 1st time Clemson plays a competent offense. Part of the reason this defense isn’t in the same league as the Brent defense’s is absolute lack of intensity

Coach V has 2 more years. I hope. As for Clemson, who knows. I find it ironic that many on here are worshipping at the feet of Jeff Scott who was a bust at a much smaller program and conference than Oklahoma and who was only a co-Offensive Coordinator and can't wait to get him back on staff but Venebles who was the best DC IN COLLEGE FB, NOT SO MUCH.
Maybe he will move back to Clemson and buy a bigger house on Lake Keowee and hang out with his best friend Dabo and enjoy his 45 million plus buyout money. That's what I would do.

I don’t think Jeff was all that. He could recruit for sure. I think this coaching staff is just as good as the national title teams. However this is a different college football and I’m not talking about the problems with nil and transfers. Those two things on the flip side have created much more parity and diversified the talent.

IMO BV won't be fired, and if for some strange reason he was fired, he could get a lot better job than a co DC job anywhere in college FB. People will mostly remember what he did at Clemson as the DC!!!

Coaches dont typically do that.... Go from A to B... B doesnt work out, so go back to A. Bobby Petrino did that in a round about way at Louisville but it was a long time period and they had changed conferences and such in that time he was gone.

BV would be in high demand as a coordinator for a number of high profile programs. I just don't see him crawling back to Clemson with his tail between his legs. He has too much pride and he really doesn't need to do that.

Wes Goodwin isn't a genius. Man, are you blind. 31 points to Virgina, who got destoryed by UNC. 35 points to NC State, 3-4 team? Louisville can score, and perhaps we'll see the weakness of Goodwin in this game once more. And what about Cam Ward (Miami). I'm terribly concerned about Goodwin's defense against the Best QB Clemson will face all year.

It's doubtful he will be fired this early.
I think if he's treated fairly they would likely wait until he attains a top performing QB.
They should at least afford him that luxury.
At the moment Oklahoma has a QB ranked outside the top 100 in the nation ( Jackson Arnold ).
I had to read that twice before saying.
How odd is it that Oklahoma lacks a QB ?
