6-10 combo forward Jake Wahlin from Utah and 6-4 shooting guard Efrem Butta Johnson at UAB. Everyone knew about Wahlin since Friday but Johnson was just discovered this morning. I have a thread on him.

I think Whalin is more for depth but can play the 3 in a big line up like Wiggins.
I like Johnson more and more. He is streaky but really deadly from 3. Good quality defender also. As long as they pick up another good wing guard later that would be a good pick up.

He is barely over 30% from 3. That's not deadly at all.

He is barely over 30% from 3. That's not deadly at all.
He was almost 33 percent from 3 last season and over 36 percent his sophomore season. Similar resume to a player that Coach Brownell turned part time starters to better players like Viktor Lakhin and Brevin Galloway from BC. You hit 5 or more 3s in a games you can be deadly just streaky. Link:

Also won games with big shots his whole career. He is a good overall player. Again, key thing is just get another good shooting guard besides him.

Can't call someone both a deadly and streaky shooter IMO

It's similar to calling them 'money from three,' but inconsistent. Could still fill a role, but doesn't look like a huge threat from long range.

Lol. He does not suck.,
Had a huge game at a decent North Texas two years ago. His addition to the portal must have fallen through the cracks because can't find thé full footage of full season highlight. But here was that game. Also saw youtube game with two big shots this season to win the game at UT at San Antonio.

Here was also highlights of Johnson in NCAAT game with San Diego State last season. Had 19 pts. A lot time they didn't mention his name but #21 for UAB when he scored. Link:

Ok is below average from 3pt range. He is polar opposite of what you are making him out to be. He would have been one of our worst percentage wise. Big shots or a highlight? He catches lightning in a bottle. Cool. Great, but he is a subpar 3pt shooter. 32% is lower than ever starter we had.

I'm not calling him to be the starter. I said it would be a good get as long as they bring in another good shooting guard in the portal.
Was Viktor Lakhin a good 3 point shooter two years ago when he shot like 27 percent or so at Cincinnati? Johnson could be better than he shot at UAB just like Viktor did this past season compared to when he was at Cincinnati.
