Where do we go at RB for CFP?

Curious to what others think on our RB options heading into CFP. Would love to see Mafah get healthy but not sure that's gonna happen. J Haynes injury looked serious so that option may be gone. Can Adams carry the load? Is EZ ready for a bigger role? Seeing that they didn't get any carries the last couple of weeks leads me to believe that there is something that is keeping them off the field. We need to be able to run the ball!!.. What are ya'lls thoughts on what the coaches should do?

I think we will see EZ. Would have seen more of him I believe on Saturday, but that muffled kick sent him to the bench. Lesson learned and he should be ready to contribute.

I heard someone mention that Adam Randall should get a look at RB

I really like that idea. As a role player of course. He obviously wouldn't be able to be trusted in pass pro since it would be brand new for him but get him on some snaps where we might hand it off or he run a wheel or run out wide. Never know what might could happen.

WE are not going to have that powerback we all want which is a captain obvious statement. AS a couch coach and TV observation expert as well with a life time of watching football and coaching through beer glazed eye-balls my aforementioned coaching accumen leads me to this. Never run the same RB twice in a row. Use everyone that has two legs, the RB's, wideout, the QB and even an offense lineman on short yardage plays, and never do the same thing twice. Rotate rotate rotate. Keep them ultra fresh. Use the waterboy if you have to. Since we don't have depth, create depth in aggregate by being unpredicatable and using everyone that you can legally hand the ball off to...use Briningstool if you have to. Make every guy on offense with legs into a running back.
Training this week should be in not fumbling if you get handed the ball.

I don't think they're competent enough to be ran in and out w/o confusion. The RB pos group must be pitching quarters or playing dominoes during practice.

But I would like to see Eziomume get some carries. No gimmicks, only RBs should play RB.

In High school, you give your best athletes the ball, regardless of particular skill sets.
That does not work at this level where everyone is an athletic stud.

That's not a good idea.
While Sammy was a very good RB in HS, he hasn't even been getting snaps in practice (as far as I know). Without serious reps at RB, there is too much rust in the area of snap counts, check-down calls, set alignments, basic handoffs, pass route adjustments, pass-pro and blocking technique that could make for a disastrous outing.
OTOH, he could be a game-changer.... but it's not worth the risk unless he gets some work in practice to knock the rust off.

actually... maybe not for this game, but would be cool if he somehow turned into a Deebo Samuels kinda guy for us. I think he's earned some extra snaps. he basically won us two games last season.

I don't know what we do here, but this is where Dabo and Garrett can EARN their big bucks. Come up with something that will work and keep that Texas D off balance - something they haven't seen from us before.
And keep a little in reserve for the 2nd half.
