then it is only one thing. Coaching Coaching Coaching Coaching. When players don’t know what they are suppose to do that is on the coaches. Our defense did not look near this bad last year. We did have some defensive issues last year. None of this happened until one man left. B Venables.

I do believe we have been more talented than every team we have played except LSU this year. Poorly coached with a QB that occasionally has head issues has been our main problem.

We don't have more Talent than them. You're just going by name recognition. If you look at the guys on the field, they're not bigger than the other team, and they're not faster than the other team. We've got a handful of guys in certain spots who are talented, but we've got other spots where there's and obvious lack of physical talent.

Talent is as talent does. I think the word is potential. We have a lot of guys who have/had potential, but most of them are not realizing that potential. I think most of what we are seeing is the other teams getting better via the portal, and us floundering without it. We are about as good a football team as we were 2 & 3 years ago (overall). Everyone else in the ACC is just much better than they were in those years.

Who says that the teams Clemson lost to were less talented? The defense looks slow and in athletic to me.

there were a few times Saturday when we didnt seem to know how / or where to line up. And few coverages that no one had a clue what was going on. This isnt the spring game or the first practice of the season. We have a cast of hundreds coaching, developing, and evaluating. Yet we get week after week of poor football and uninspired and error filled play.

Either the recruiting rankings have missed on Clemson’s classes the last 4 years, or we are the more talented team on paper in 4 out of our 5 losses.
I agree our secondary is horrendous, but Duke’s was possibly worse.
I do believe there is a possibility our defensive staff has either split amongst themselves or the players just aren’t understanding their assignments.
I do feel somewhat better about our offensive staff , and that may just be getting more speed on the field with Davidson in the backfield.
