SMH. With age comes wisdom. I’m gonna let you in on a secret: people never really age MUCH in their mind. We all still feel like that 17 year old in our brains. Just because the body ages and begins to fail doesn’t mean we don’t love to have fun.
I spent around 10 hours playing the PS5 this week. My generation IS the gaming generation. I have owned and still have almost every major gaming console since the original Pong.
Last weekend I went to the local pub to see a band and danced with almost every lady there. They were asking me after about my third dance. Even the twenty somethings.
The BEST thing about getting older is financial security. Everything’s paid off. If I want something new I go pay cash. If I want to go to Hawaii, I book a trip. If I want a new Glock I go buy it.
Hate on old folks all you want. Soon enough you’ll be one too. Hope and pray you’re as cool as some of the older cats on here. Most have forgot more than youngin’s know and are holding several doctorates in life lived.

I turned 68 yesterday, and I've seen an awful lot of folks put in the ground before reaching 50. Family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. And they never saw it coming. Cancer, heart attack, brain aneurysm, car wreck (not their fault), whatever, you name it. Seen it all. Some funky diseases I'd never even heard of before. And freak accidents too...
I was working at a software company in the late 80s and went to lunch with a few guys on a Friday. One dude was mid 30s or maybe 40. He was cool, I liked him a lot. I come in to work on Monday and find out he died over the weekend. On a ladder cleaning out gutters when his wife came out to walk the dog. A squirrel ran by and the dog took off after it. The dog leash wrapped around the ladder and jerked it over... he fell and hit his head on concrete. Died that same night.
Everybody thinks they're going to live forever.

A buddy of mine was in his twenties and sharing a house with two other fellas that were all working at a university. He came back after Christmas break to learn one roommate died of a brain aneurysm in their rental house over the holiday.
You never know. Relish growing old.

When I got here in 99 it seemed to me most posters were 20 somethings. Now I'd say the majority are under 40.
