What's going on with the seating on the hill?

Nov 30, 2016, 9:46 AM

For the last few home games I've noticed that the Hill is not full prior to the team running down. Even in the game the upper corners of it are empty. Is this a student section? Are they not arriving early enough to fill it up? If so, then I can't wait for students to have to pay for lower deck tickets. Need to be invested some what to show up on time.

On a side note, this was the first home game against USuC in many years where the hill didn't have that fun blow up Gamecock Mascot.

Student here.

Security has begun making sure the ids match the student's which holds up the students getting on the Hill.

For the lower deck they just rescan the Id at some of the gates.

Yup it's a log jam down there. They go one by one scanning ID's because God forbid that someone gets on the hill that isn't supposed to. I got in the stadium over an hour before the game this past weekend and still had to wait forever in a huge clump of people. Trust me, the students are there, security just makes it almost impossible to get on the hill.

Hope there's a better solution to that before next season. The eyes of the world are on that hill when the Tigers go down on, esp. on tv!

Yea, this absolutely needs to be fixed. It looked awful all year. My problem is that even during the game the corners of the hill are empty. You use to no be able to move on the hill.

Thanks for whoever gave me the thumbs down without commenting. Must be one of the idiots that is late for the game every Saturday.

I think part of the reason that the hill seems

less full during games is, like what was said earlier, that they're scanning ID's and enforcing sitting in your section more now. A lot of students who had upper deck tickets used to be able to get down in the lower deck and stand on the hill, creating a more full hill but empty corners in the upper deck. Now, it's harder to do so. Hopefully Clemson adds more hill tickets next year to fill it in

Student corner of the upper deck (south) was pretty sparse, too, this past Sat...

Hate it for the students that security is holding them up.

effin terrorists...

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

Also it is extremely difficult

to get to the other side of the hill because there is only one gate that students are supposed to go through (on the southeast corner of the stadium) which causes the huge pile up every weekend and once they rope off the section for our tigers to run down, everything comes to a stop. Something needs to be done.
