Sadly Clemson on national TV doesn’t bring in the ratings or revenue that schools like Ohio state, or Penn state bring in. Those were Herbies FAX.

Maybe not as many alumni, but were most definitely a huge brand.

If Clemson was in the final 4 we’d have the ratings just like anyone else.

You think Clemson vs Penn State would bring the same ratings nationally as Notre Dame vs Penn State? We’d bring good ratings, this game is going to get record breaking ratings. Not on the same level at all.

That’s not a knock on Clemson. We don’t have the history or brand yet that the teams he is referring to have. We also don’t have as many alumni across the country. Honestly I’d rather be a smaller market team than one that people in California dictate what we do.

this post isn't about week 3 of the season with 100 other games on TV at the same time.

the super bowl only has 2 teams.. you telling me the ratings are only from those 2 fan bases?

lol have you looked into the rating of past CFP and NY6 game? Ignorant comment. You have any factual knowledge of anything? Or do you just come in here to give your opinion

Regardless of what you think about what Herbie said, the next time Gameday comes to Little Ol' Clemson, the place better be packed out for Gameday! I know his original statement was about ratings, but Little Ol' Clemson better show Gameday just how BIG Clemson can be!

ESPiN doesn't like the PO selection process.

They don't care who they insult as long as they can show a flaw in the way teams are selected. Had 6 SEC teams been seeded KH wouldn't have insulted one of the teams. We sucked the last 2 seasons and sucked hard relative to our previous years.

By Clemson standard we didn't belong in a playoff. Too bad for ESPiN that the talking heads don't have more influence over the selection. It's not about fair, it's about money to ESPiN. It's about justifying their packing the top 25 with SEC teams in the 2025 preseason polls.

Clemson is alone here, my friends. We are succeeding from the ACC and it's pretty clear the ACC isn't happy with us, we are in the SEC's way and confounding its efforts to take all the playoff money. It really is Clemson vs the world and this world belongs to them.

Hold your head up Clemson fans, we are just passing though this turmoil. We'll be back to embarrassing Herbie and his brownie buddies at ESPiN soon enough, again and again!

I don't have a problem with his rating analysis coming from an ESPN perspective and bias. He's in the biz. But I do take offense that he had to disparage Clemson in his comments, not SMU, ASU, Indiana, Boise St, Oregon, or TN. It's like there's a needle point motto hanging in the ESPN lobby, "Insult Clemson Today". You can call me paranoid, but there's been a subtle narrative with ESPN for years, that Clemson is crowding the party. However I also subscribe to the notion that any press is good press as long as they spell the name right, regardless of how they pronounce it. As long as Clemson is in their heads, maybe that's a good thing.

Herbie's a shill, right there with Finebaum.

His two sons went to Clemson and while they were here, he couldn't have said enough praise about our program and coaches. This is a low blow for sure. I just don't understand why he said it.
