What Jackie Sherrill said

Nov 27, 2012, 7:36 PM

now seems to make sense. A couple of years ago he said we were headed to four 20 team conferences. 20 teams in one league just didn't make sense. But with the 4 team playoff locked in for a long time, it would make sense if the 4 conferences split into four 5 team divisions. The 4 division winners in each conference would play down to the conference winner. The 4 conference winners would then meet in the already approved playoff system. So in effect there would be a 16 team playoff system, but since the first two rounds are within a conference it doesn't violate the approved 4 team playoff that supposedly can't be changed until 2020 or something.

I hate how TV has ruined college football. Give me the old

8-9 team conferences where everybody plays one another to get a true conference champion then have playoff with all major conference winners. How #### hard is that to figure out?

We will still never have a true champion with super conferences where everyone doesn't play each other. We don't have that now in 12 team leagues. Old bowl system Pre-BCS was better than this garbage.

Got to pay the bills. TV provides that. I'd rather TV pay

Nov 27, 2012, 8:36 PM

than me pay more for tickets. Somebody has to pay these coaches millions of dollars. No, what has ruined college football are the greedy coaches who get paid 1...2...3..4 million. One million dollars for someone to blow a whistle?????????? Puhleeeeeese.

Well then the all powerfull sec would have to add 6 more teams. After they get the nc and vir market the last 4 would only make sense to stay in the south east area.

Is that fewer regular season games

Nov 27, 2012, 8:13 PM

And additional playoff games? If the season in your matrix still includes 12 regular games, that's extra stress on the teams. I assume the 4 division winners would play 3 games to find the conference winner who would then go on to the national playoffs. All before the final championship.
