They lost a game. It’s all over. Definitely should have gotten a few more portal players.

Losing to Texas is exactly the same as losing to Duke.

What does that have to do with this year?

Texas and Alabama are good programs and no one is laughing at Bama for losing at home. The entire country laughed at Clemson Monday night. That might have something to do with Duke historically being a trash heap. Clemson, on paper, is better than that and should have won easily. Our coaches have dropped the ball. Dabo included.

when Duke and Texas were about the same last year which is the most recent body of work to compare, both having played only 2 games so far. And what does history have to do with it? Yes, Texas has historically been better and Duke bad, but that doesn't mean they are now.

And as for me and my house, we were laughing at Bama losing at home by double digits. We laughed a lot.
Thankfully, the coots still have Georgia to help them feel better.

Looking forward to next weekend at UGA. That should be as much fun as tonight in Bama.

Be careful some on this board will call you a coot for telling the truth, but yes I agree, big difference between Duke and Texas, but with that being said Alabama still is a good team but not superior.

Id say both losses equal but in the end whatever is said about a first few week loss especially couple games then if u win out yr in.
I don't know any other bama Saban team that would lose that. And the announcers were kind to clemson today talking about all the missed points and position, stats, etc that should have led to an easy clemson win.
And if Texas didn't play bamer 2nd game they would be ranked high 20s if not. Imho

I think it is probably over but it's tough to write Saban off

He's been right there in it nearly every year for the last 15 seasons.
That said, I don't like his coordinators this year, I don't think he has a great QB right now, and his defense hasn't been the same level of dominant since Kirby went to UGA.
I think it's slowly coming to an end for Nick, but it's probably foolish to put the nail in the coffin right now.

A tad sarcastic; but their QB play is suspect. Kids has potential but needs to improve if they are going to make the playoffs.

Other than Georgia, who in the SEC can beat Alabama. The SEC is vastly overrated.

Think about what is going on here. Elite programs like Alabama, Clemson and others were high in the recruiting rankings when every program had to sell basically the same product i.e. culture, facilities, academic integrity, player development at both the athletic level and life in general, etc. Frankly, we stood out and reaped the benefits for all those years that we were on our run.
Unfortunately, NIL and Portal have made those things less relevant and succeeded in spreading the talent around. A Colorado program could never do what they are doing now without the portal.
The reality is the professionalization of college football is robbing the "haves" and giving to the "have nots" and creating an arms race based on materialism rather than values.
Unfortunately, hard decisions have to be made about how you address it if you want to remain competitive in this rapidly changing environment.
