My head Coach in high school told me my freshman year and I quote, "Son, if speed was money you'd be on welfare!" Then by my Jr year I had physically matured and ran a respectable 4.6 40yds.
One thing that you can't coach up is size, a 5'11" 190 pounder O-lineman is the same in the 1st qtr as he is in the 4th qtr, while 6'5", 300 lbs, DLineman is the same all 4 qtrs and will eventually wear out the smaller guy. The other is speed kills, you can have kids who are fundamentally sound and can be good athletes but a superior athlete will win most of the time!

The ass't coach said he didn't need a stop watch for me he needed a calendar. I told him that maybe so, but he better be there with it, if I started a race I was going to finish it.

BTW, speaking of elite WRs...it was interesting to see what happened with OSU last year in the playoffs when Harrison went down. Their WR recruiting has been better than anyone the last 4 years.
Yet, the loss Harrison probably cost them the victory against the dawgs. Point is, there are good WRs and then there are elite WRs.

If anybody can afford an injury at WR it's OhioSt.
2023 per 247 they signed 3 of the top 10
2021 they snagged 4 of the top 7 , or 6 of the top 11.

SO this looks to be CRAZY fast. I did some research and the fastest speed Usain Bolt was ever clocked at going (not his overall average) was around 27 mph. Assuming this is a similar "top speed" type measurement, this kid is apparently within 10% of the fastest human ever.

Back in 1995 I was clocked at 31 mph in a 25 mph zone in an old Ford Escort.
I don't think it was any kind of record though.

Watch out, you are dangerously close to entering Dawg territory with such a thunderous lead-foot on the pavement.

Personally, I take this with a grain of salt. Even if this is 15% off, hitting the 20-21 MPH spot is still stupid fast.
For quick reference, 24 MPH is faster than Tyreek Hill's NFL record of 23.24 top end speed.
Wish we could've had this tech in Darrell Green's day -- that dude is probably the fastest dude to lace up and had the smoothest running motion back. Heck, he ran a 4.43 at 50!

thats fast...but can he add 35lbs of muscle to that 160lb frame and keep that speed with a full set of pads on?
Being fast on the track isnt the same as being fast on the football field. CJ and Jacoby were track stars turned football stars, but Jacoby slowed in college with added muscle and CJ slowed in the NFL with added muscle. Both were lightning fast
