Being retired, I can look up this stuff. The commentators mentioned Clemson beating Duke today may get them in the NCAA tournament, it appears it was really close. I can't vouch for the accuracy to the sites below, but .........

One site mentions Clemson as first out unless they beat Duke.

Another site has a live update of locks (Safely In) and bubble teams. After beating Duke, Clemson is listed as one of the final locks (17th of 18). Eighteen are listed and only nine spots remain, likely conference AQs yet to be determined.

I nave no idea if bid stealers from the 15 AQ conferences can change the field. Hope not.

Mistake - 11 spots remain beyond the 18, but 2 bubble teams already projected as in.

29 is an odd number for tournament teams. Next web search.

3 teams get a first round bye. I don’t know if the 29 is because you’re limited by some other NCAA rule where % of tournament/total programs is capped but they need to change that.

If 4-29 play the first round at campus sites, Clemson MAY travel to Michigan (my uneducated guess, 17 at 16). Winner MAY go the top seed for round 2 (more wild #### guessing). Tough road but one worth traveling.

The top 8 seeds are set. The rest, while ranked, have no seed and first round matchups may consider and travel and rivalries.

We've been the first few teams out both the first year and last year. We definitely should have been in the first year. That one seemed like a political move as no first year team has ever made the NCAA Tournament.

Last year, Duke (who we destroyed on the road) got in over us because of their signature win. If we would have beat ND last year in the overtime game, we would have been in the tournament.
