...........this was my father in laws 2005 Silverado that I bought from his estate last year...it had a lot if sentimental value to me....but..it could have been worse...I could have been sitting in it..unbelievably...my kayak with a couple of thousand dollars worth of rods in it was in the bed....I think they survived... it sure about the trolling motor yet....

Anyway..thankful it was not worse..four HUGE oak trees fell within 1 to 6 feet of 3 corners of our house and none of them hit us. Just the one smaller one that got my back porch and is still on the roof..

Hopefully we get power back today so We can see the game...

Go Tigers!

Glad you and the Mrs. are OK. I've been stunned with the damage

around the Midlands.

Have been following closely the news about Lake Lure, as I have a younger brother and his wife who live there. Also, the devastation of Chimney Rock. Just surreal, all of it.

I'm thankful you and Mrs. Spud are OK. So sorry about your truck, but looks like the boat is good. Getting power back in the upstate sounds like it could take awhile. You might have to grill some fish for the neighbors! I hope your grill is OK.

Material possessions no matter how valuable or sentimental in value, can be replaced. I am glad you and Mrs. Spud survived unharmed. Take care Spud.

We had several large trees come down. One big one just scraping the side of the house but seems to have spared the AC units right next to it. Probably going to have to hire some help to cut up and haul away some of the larger trees. Thank goodness there was no real damage to the house. Lost power about 6:30 AM Friday and still off this morning. Wife got an automated message from Blue Ridge saying they are working hard on it but there may be “multiple day” outages. If we don’t have power by tomorrow I’ll probably empty it e freezer and have a huge cookout in the cul de sac. A neighbor told us he had seen stats that said Blue Ridge has approximately 74,000 customers and 64,000 of them did not have power yesterday afternoon. LOTS of tree down in this area between Easley, Pelzer, Powdersville.

Man, sorry to hear about your father's truck but ultimately, glad to hear you're safe and sound. What a crazy storm.

Yep, we're all ok here but I have a tree on top of my carport. That tree' roots are two houses away. It must have been 100' tall for the top to have hit my lot.

I’ve only been able to get to part of our farm, but lots of mature pines down, and big top hardwoods, too. Scared to say how many, but very many. Takes a long time to grow them (some were at least 40 years old and older), and just a couple of hours for them to get destroyed. Now the cleanup will be a mess, too. The old home place house suffered pretty bad damage, but our other buildings not too bad, at all. Thankful nobody got hurt. Hoping I can get some timber company to try to salvage some of the trees. Still blessed to be here safe now.

Glad to see you and the mizzus are safe.

The real question is, what is this rain gonna do to the fishing? How long before Hartwell will be spitting out smallies on a regular basis?

Glad you are safe. I know how difficult it is to lose sentimental items. I'm in Greenville near airport, still no power either.

If I may try to make us smile, aren't you the poster with the sideways camera?
Please know this was to produce a smile... I hope it worked!

Careful with the cleanup and don't injure yourself. Reminds me of my yard after Hugo. Glad you are safe.

Spud with Global warming the storms are going to get worse every year, so maybe it's time that you do what I done when a big tree limb hit the corner of my house about 15 years ago. Every tree in my yard that looked like it could hit my house if it was blown down in a storm, I cut every one of down bc it's hard to hear from inside my house how bad the weather is outside is unless they have really loud thunder or lightening, and I didn't want to risk one of my trees falling into my house where I was asleep at. Any tree that I thought could hit my house, I cut it down!!!

Glad y’all are ok! Sorry about the truck. Old chevys are better than most new vehicles. Especially when they are special ones. Continued prayers for everyone affected. Stay safe Spud!
