indulgence, but if you watched Yellowstone 1883 last night, Sam Elliot was giving a speech to a group of greenhorns he was about to lead across the Wild West to Oregon. Well, he told them about rattle snakes and the dangers therein, and then he held up three leaves and told them it was poison ivy and it would give them a severe rash. I swear, HE HELD UP 3 OAK LEAVES. I kid you not. When I saw that, it was much easier to understand how a loaded .45 went off on a set in Hollywood.

The saddest part about it is the actors, directors, etc, probably didn’t know the difference.

I saw the same. There are MANY misrepresentations in this seriea. I have spot watched this show two times because I passed through the tv room and my wife is hooked on it. WHY. I have no clue.
I think this is one of the most violet, vulger (if they couldn't use the work f*** then there would be no dialogue) and gruesome (for no real reason) entertainment attempts I have ever witnessed. NO MORE for me.

Exactly. I think you’re talking about Yellowstone and not the 1883? Anyway, the F word loses its umph when it’s every other word that every man, woman and child on the show (Yellowstone) uses without ceasing. I’ve watched it until the last two episodes. Love the scenery. Every western has to have a good guy. I came to the conclusion there are no good guys on Yellowstone...period. I know western ranchers are a tougher than nails breed, but this is over the top. They lost me too.

Spud, many of the seasoned directors have been indicted for harassment, laundering, etc in Hollyweird so this is the new reality of things. Productions will be lower budget and less polished. Props will be limited to what is readily available. Think "The Blair Witch Project" to keep expectations low.

that scene, the Prop Director told the Assistant Prop Director to run get some leaves.....so, he or she ran out to the parking lot and broke a limb off....

Thanks for the warning, lazy prop work ticks me off too. At least I'll have my expectations lowered.

diligence when it comes to getting the little things right.
Some of those Amazonian type series are pretty doggone good, though. "Bosch" just wrapped up their final season, and ALL the seasons were excellent throughout.
And, Showtime has brought "Dexter" back in a new incarnation, just as deliciously warped as the original series.

Unless I heard incorrectly one of the German speakers said, “Alles OK”. Yikes!
Hip Germans immigrants in 1883.

You're correct and I laughed when I saw it and then rewound it so my wife could see why I was laughing. Those were the leaves from an actual Pin Oak, and I completely agree about it being easier to understand how a loaded gun went off on set in Hollywood.

I’ve spent much more than half my life alone in the the “wild forest” and I’ve yet to encounter a rattle snake or poisonous plant that concerned me very much. Now a pack of wild dogs is another matter. Thank goodness they can’t climb a tree,
