I think it's the fall off of the defense. Our offense doesn't appear to be any better than last year against teams with decent athletes, and we no longer have a D capable of keeping us in games while the offense screws around all night.

I've predicted this season perfectly so far. The simple answer is yes. We are better than we were last year, at least offensively. Luke did improve the offensive line some, though the talent still just isn't there. Wesco and Moore are better than any other receiver we've had the past two years. I think Cade is slightly better. Defensively, we're worse.
I do think Riley was a good hire, and Luke was a great one. Goodwin is bad. He could be a good analyst, but he's far too cowardly and lifeless to be a defensive coordinator. And unfortunately, the coach we're paying $11 million to coach is now toxic. He's always been bad on gameday, but he was a good recruiter. But his pitch no longer matters to good players, and his stance on NIL means 5 Stars won't be coming to Clemson any longer while he's here.

I don't think we can say we are better until we see how we play against the better teams. So far, we are 0-2 against better teams. The next 3 of 4 will fill in the blanks and tell us if we are really any better.

One of the few times I’ve ever agreed with you. This was true throughout our championship run…there were many games we were outcoached on the offensive side of the ball…just had the talent to overcome. No longer have that edge

We “out talented” Alabama, Ohio St, and the other playoff teams we beat? Come on. We did have way more talent then than we do now but we had great coaching back then. Now? Not sure.

I think the concern is we have only played 2 decent teams on our schedule so far, and we didn't bring it to either one. The next 3 of 4 games will tell us if we just had a couple of off nights or if there is more going on. GA was better than us so I can excuse that one. Last night, with the way we lost and having 2 weeks to heal and prepare, is just unexplainable.

1) I'm off the Goodwin train. Further proof that these "friends and family" hires aren't working.
2) You can't ignore NIL/Portal and not have some deterioration in your roster talent. You can't.

Has Dabo Swinney lost this team? There is a huge and widening discrepancy between what he says and what this team does. The staff is packed full of people that would never ever disagree with him. I think a case could be made for wiping the whole slate clean.

Better. But fatal flaw on run defense has been exposed. This board is nuts! Last week we were gonna make it to the natty, and Cade was on the Heisman watch. Dabo had outsmarted everyone....now, the game has passed Dabo (again) and it's all over. A "broken program"...Just nuts...it's a very good team, but it has the ability to lay an egg... just when we least expect it. They could certainly still run the table from here, and things are gonna look a lot different for every team in week 12...it's not over yet, and most fans are already at the funeral...nuts. gotta be a bunch of coots just pouring it on....Half the fans have Dabo Derangement Syndrome...its understandable....the World has changed more in the last 20 years than in the last 2000....and it will continue to do so. 17 years ago, sharing your Christian faith on tv was admired....would you ever have believed they now edit out references to God in interviews? Crazy world...males playing girls sports? The terrorists are the victims? This is not the World that existed when Dabo started...the world didn't just change, it went nuts, Dabo just chooses not to go nuts with it. 6-2. It's all still in front of us.

I’d have to disagree with it being broken. It’s got its problems for sure but not broken. Some of those problems can be fixed whether we are willing to do it is another story.
I’d call Nebraska, Auburn, Florida broken programs.

I don't think we are "broken" either--but we definitely have some issues as DABO has admitted to.
IF ......you aren't going to use the portal to fill the UNAVOIDABLE gaps (no way of not having these), you better recruit HS kids at an elite level (± top 5 each year and hit on nearly every one) if you wish to compete for NCs. We aren't doing that--not even close. Look at last 4-5 classes & who is still left on the team. We have very good talent in spots, just not nearly enough quality depth...not nearly enough to compete consistently against what used to be our contemporaries (uga, OSU, etc....). Its Roster MISManagement. Not enough Alphas on roster.
Not saying coaching can't be improved...we certainly upgraded when we brought in Luke, but no coach can overcome the deficiencies we have ATM. Throw in the unavoidable injuries (eveyone has them) and the unavoidable roster transfers (everyone has them) and we are playing the game with ZERO margin for error. None. Playing the game with one hand tied behind your back so-to-speak. All self-inflicted. It doesn't have to be this way.

The only thing that is broken is our players don't know how to play a full game bc they are usually on the sidelines after the first half and their bodies aren't trained to play a full game in a game that demands being in excellent shape to play 4 full quarters. Our guys and their bodies are used to being on the sidelines after the first half, and then all of sudden they are asking their bodies to do something that they're not used to doing, not since the UGA game!!! You get into full game shape by playing in the entire game!!!
