Yesterday the Good Guys did more than just win two games.
During the middle of the 4th Inning of each game, the stadium played Lee Greenwood’s Proud to be an American. During the song, the PA announcer asked that anyone who has/had served in our country’s military please stand.
Several people stood. We all clapped for our servicemen and servicewomen. It was a nice tribute.
But it wasn’t over.
As the song kept playing, the players came out of the dugout and into the stands. They approached our veterans and servicemen/servicewomen and thanked each of them personally. They shook their hands, introduced themselves, and said "Thanks!" Many players briefly interacted with them because so many of the veterans and military personnel seemed so appreciative of this interaction.
Our team took a nice tribute and made it personalized. And special.
We really do have a special group of people with this baseball team - both on and off the field!

I noticed that on Friday and my heart swelled as did the men and women standing. I was hoping that this would be a “new tradition”. It was very meaningful.

A special way to say "Thank You" to those who serve or have served. And a way of saying that their service is appreciated and is worthy of recognition! It seemed to mean a lot to the people being honored.
I hope we keep doing it all season!

For every game this is non-sense. Once a year is great. Clemson is an educational institution--why not honor teacher for the game.
Other wise this will become a pure political commercial

They ran a segment on Fox News and had the head coach. Ainsley is a Coot, but she gave us props for doing it.
