We are one of one. (Dabo last night on ACC Huddle)

9th ACC title in 14 years
10th ACC title in 16 years
10 wins 13th time in 14 years
(All the above after 20 years without any of those)
Been to the CFP 7 times. Second only to Ala.
2 National Championships in the past eight years
2nd or 3rd in retention. (Fewest kids leaving the program)
2nd in wins in the past 15 years
1st in draft picks
1st in first round draft picks
1st in conference championships
Check our record against the SEC, Big 10, and ND (that’s what you fight against).
Highest graduation rate (in the past 20 years) 2 years in a row.
We have a program that serves to the 30 year old version (of our players)
I’m just standing on business (as the kids say).

Dabo painted quite the picture of the program with this last night. I haven’t validated any of it, nor do I desire too. I do know Clemson ‘wandered in the desert’ for a long time after Danny left. For all he has done to make Clemson relevant again, I’m so thankful.

Go Tigers!!! Do your best in the CFP. I’ll still be very, very excited and very, very proud.

Should be the POTD! Recent Tiger fans have no clue how much worse it could be. From 1992-2010, there weren’t many outstanding Tiger football seasons at all. Might have won 9 games twice during that time span (2003, 2009), but certainly didn’t have double digit wins. Everyone wants the Tigers to win and be elite, but some really need to take a step back and reflect on what Dabo Swinney has done for Clemson. Some fans are delusional calling for him to be fired.

P.S.- Tommy Bowden only had two 9 win seasons in his entire tenure (2003, 2007). Dabo has not led us back to the Bowden status.

His best season was 1995: 8-4. Got blown out by Syracuse and Donovon McNabb in the Gator Bowl. Next season started with blow out loss to UNC. Only bowl victory was the '93 Peach Bowl (I missed it due to chicken pox). 1998 was embarrassing but at least we beat the coots!

Just because you’re a student during a bad time doesn’t make it worse. Try spending bank in donations and building IPTAY points to earn prime parking and tickets while suffering through that. Student time suffering is gravy compared to that. As a student the parties and school life made things much easier. No mortgage. No kids. The only responsibility is keeping a passing grade and hustling for beer money! 🤣

While I applaud Clemson for the 3rd Miracle they got in the SMU game 1) (56-yard FG), the other two at 2)Pitt (Cade 50-plus yard run with 1:08 left), and 3) Miami's blunder at Syracuse, I have to conclude that this a Team of Miracles. Perhaps these miracles will continue throughout the CFP, beginning with Texas in Austin. Let me say one thing, though. Wes Goodwin's defense almost blew this thing against SMU. After a 31-14 lead in the 2nd half, that defense almost found a way screw up the title. I will insist that this DC will be the reason Dabo gets on the hot seat again, and the only way Clemson beats Texas is with another miracle. This is their only hope. Texas and Evers will shred apart Goodwin's defense unless
Divine Intervention occurs, and I'm being serious. Cade will have to have another game of 4-TDs for Clemson's success offensively (30-plus points), because WES can't coach Defensive football, and he won't protect any lead. This game should have been a blowout. Running a 3-2-5 defense consistently! What's wrong with this man?! Even Greg McElroy noticed it late in the game. He nearly had the Tigers out of the Playoffs! 34-31. What an almost giveaway!!! As I have stated ever since the Georgia game, FIRE Wes Goodwin for the sake of the Defensive legacy at Clemson. For God's sake, get rid of this man!!!

share it.

I think we all realize we don’t have the depth of talent we did when winning those national championships. We’ve all been frustrated by the portal and NIL making acquisition and retention of talent seem like surviving in the wild wild west.

As frustrating as all that is and given Clemson is not the dominant team at the moment, we are still around, still in the picture, and still shaping hearts and minds of some quality young men.

That legacy is worth pausing and reflecting on. Imo.

Doesn’t take away from the fact that for even the current level of success to continue, changes have to be made. I think a collection of elite coaches wouldn’t have allowed SMU to come all the way back. But you kind of knew they would.

If changes aren’t made, I think we are in the final hours of this great run of winning football.

I agree. We need legit position coaches and coordinators. We also need to use the portal to build competitive depth. As far as changing Dabo, nope. Wouldn’t trade him for any coach.

I agree with One Jedi. Don’t even think about firing Dabo but we do need to use the portal selectively and to have better coordinators for both OC and DC. On our rise up we outcoached and out motivated our competitors. Neither is happening right now.

I wasn’t sure on that either. Dabo said it as he was going thru his mental list of program accomplishments. I didn’t intend to validate all he said, just thought it was worth sharing. I’m not a great big fan of the ACCN. But the post game interviews they have done for the ACC championships have been pretty good. I flip over a watch that after the games.

Good stuff! I lived through the desert and even pre Danny days. I honestly never thought I’d see another national championship in my lifetime. Much less two. Dabo has a lifetime contract in my eyes. It’s always great to be a Tiger. Even when you’re wandering through the desert! Let’s go shock the world and crash the party! Go Tigers!!!

But when those guys won that game in Tampa, years of ### frustration melted away. I was fortunate enough to be there. One of those memories you never forget. Bulware said it best for me that night.

There's no doubt we've had a lot of success. And I'm happy to validate this.

9th ACC title in 14 years - Yes!

10th ACC title in 16 years - No. It's our 10th ACC game in 16 years. We lost to GT in 2009.

10 wins 13th time in 14 years - Yes!

(All the above after 20 years without any of those)

Been to the CFP 7 times. Second only to Ala. - Yes!

2 National Championships in the past eight years - Yes!

2nd or 3rd in retention. (Fewest kids leaving the program) - No, we're tied for 7th with USC (still great). Behind Northwestern, Stanford, Wake, BC, Duke, and Vandy. Good company to be in.

2nd in wins in the past 15 years - Depends on how you measure it. Ohio State technically self-vacated their wins in 2010. Adding in those from their 12-1 season puts us at third (UGA right behind). Officially, we're second.

1st in draft picks - No. We're 10th behind Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Michigan, USC, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, and Notre Dame.

1st in first round draft picks - No. We're sixth by my count behind Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, and LSU.

1st in conference championships - Depends on time-frame and who we're counting. There's a couple G5 teams with the same number. Alabama also has 9 conference championships since 2009.

Check our record against the SEC, Big 10, and ND (that’s what you fight against). - Dabo is 21-14 against the SEC in his career. 8 wins are against South Carolina though. We're 4-2 against Notre Dame.

Highest graduation rate (in the past 20 years) 2 years in a row - Yes! Not in the past 20 years, but we've led in graduation rates since 2016.

We have a program that serves to the 30 year old version (of our players) - Yes!

Yes, I was an avid fan like today when we wandered in the desert many years before we could become competitive again. There is only a handful and they joined in only after Dabo won his first Natty that talk about firing Dabo. Anyone that calls for the firing of Dabo is not a supporter or they have never been a part of Clemson’s past history. Just like the fake media they try to control the agenda. They have no support on this board and are only making fools of themselves to the rest of us. AKA Judge Keller
