No one with a pulse and half a brain would argue otherwise. But that does NOT mean we can’t win.
Here’s how I see these possible scenarios:
Their A game vs our A game = probable Clemson loss.
Their A game vs our B game = probable blowout.
Their B game vs our A game = Clemson has a chance.
Their C game vs our A game = probable Clemson win.
Our B game and their C game = likely Clemson win.
Just my opinion. Everyone has one.

If we play 4 good quarters we have a good chance. However, that has alluded us all year. Depth may again be the difference in this game.

Hey, I have half a brain. Wait, that didn’t come out right. I think our talent is grossly underestimated. I think we match up well with Texas. Now, don’t get me wrong. If we play sloppily as we have done on occasion, it might be a long afternoon.
We don’t have to defend a dual threat quarterback, and he tends to turn the ball over. Normally, I’m worried about special teams, but Texas’ special teams have problems, too.
We have to win the turnover battle, and we have to be able to run so that we are not one dimensional. Tall tasks against a good team at home, but I’m saying there’s a chance.

We have dudes, for sure. But so do they. Remember Mukuba?
Sort of reminds me of us playing UGA when they had one of our standout CBs. How did that turn out?
It’s not that we don’t have dudes, it’s that it’s not a good matchup. Without a running game, this game could get out of hand, even if we do stop them a few times.
Throw in tackling issues and continuing to be out-coached in the second half, we have every right to be nervous about this game.

I don’t disagree with most of what you say. If we can’t run, then, yes, we are doomed. The reason I think it’s a good matchup for us is that I think our defense will be able to keep the game low scoring. I’m not saying we are better than Texas, but I would rather be playing them than anyone else we could have been paired with in the first round.

Clemson will have to weather the first 10 minutes and not make a mistake. TX benefitted from one of the easiest schedules in the sec. GA beat them twice which is very hard to beat anyone 2 times. Watch that film over and over. Clemson defense lwill be stout and must focus on not giving up big plays trying to make spectacular plays. Make them kick FGs. It probably comes down to how Cade plays. Running qb’s in the college game are hard to stop. Chance to really put his name out there for 2025 Heisman.

Talent wise based off of blue chip recruits we are pretty similar to them. Not sure why people think they are so much better. We have the better qb imo. They have a better defense. Not sure what Os they have played that are as good as ours tho.

I don't think we played that bad against South Carolina. We had that fumble or I believe we would have went up 21-7 and that would have been enough. We have to finish drives for sure.

I’ve watched Texas play live twice in the past two years. Most Recently last month in Austin
They are simply better in my opinion. They have more talented depth than we do. They recruit high school very well and use the portal as needed. Bigger physically as well.
Could we win..sure particularly if Ewers is off. Better get the points early though. We tend to fade as the game goes on …again talented depth.

I disagree. The talent, even by the numbers, is very similar. Think they're roster was #4 and ours was #9. There's not much a difference in that at all in actuality. I'd prefer the #9 roster with better seniority and QB. And yes, Klubnik is better than Ewers this year. Arch, I'm not sure. Hopefully we don't find out. My question is all with coaching.

I know that it was later in the season, but they played better against Georgia than we did, especially in the SEC championship game, that game went into OT with the finale score being UGA 22-19 over Texass...

Having an opinion to me shows interest and there isn't anything wrong with that when it's a reasonable opinion. My dislike is those that will thumb down someone else's opinion only bc it wasn't in line with their own opinion that they will refuse to share to keep from being TD themselves, and that's totally unfair, and it shows immaturity by the poster thumbing down another poster's opinion. IMO, T-Net is a Clemson sports board for Clemson fans to share their opinions!!!

As others have said, we need to establish a running game. And we need to play a complete game - all three phases. Dabo has always had the team peak at the right time, so hopefully he has them primed and ready.

When Texas brings more in the box and blitzes cade with man coverage, can he consistently find the open man and deliver the ball and can Riley draw up plays to consistently to beat man coverage. That is what ends up slowing us down in the second half in most of our games. Can the offense do that? I don’t know because I haven’t seen it yet in any consistency throughout any 1 full game…I personally think they should build in more zone reads throughout the game with Cade reading the end to have a little wrinkle in the run game and not have to block the end defender. That may take some of the pressure off throughout the game and create more consistent 1st and 2nd down gains to stay ahead of the sticks
