How much money for NIL does Clemson actually have to spend on players? I want someone that KNOWS to respond. Not someone that gave 10 bucks 40 years ago. How much money do we actually have to spend on players? That wouldn’t cripple our program? Sound off! Y’all know everything so let’s talk money!!!!! How much we got and who can we afford to actually spend it on.. Go!!!

I agree, not having or spending NIL money is costing us every week in recruiting and it's most likely going to start costing us with first line players hitting the portal. Ohio state spent $22M on this years team as an example and I'm sure they are not the top of the NIL pile.

Clemson is #17 in the country in NIL.

According to ON3. It's just the lack of money that's the problem. It's Dabo's refusal to use it up front in recruiting and the portal.

In contrast, Louisville isn't in the Top 50.

While the article is interesting, I'm not sure I buy the writer's assumption that the rankings of total athletic dept. giving over the period 2005-2022 will equate to a similar ranking of NIL funding. Based on the title, that seems to be the premise.

So we are 17th in the country in NIL money. Okay. Who are we paying and why are they getting? Is that public knowledge? Who is eating that shouldn’t be. Who is out there we could realistically bring to Clemson that wouldn’t destroy what’s already there? I’m all for paying these kids but when it comes to this one and done and moving on crap is what bothers me. So would you rather spend $22 Million and not win? Or not spend anything and not win.. who can we realistically say would come to Clemson and make an instant difference. You would destroy the philosophy that he’s trying to create. Yes let’s get these kids paid but at what cost? Do you want Clemson to be a revolving door like some of these programs? You want a different starter at QB every year in hopes to win one? You have to say to yourself what’s worth it. Winning now or winning later. As I said I am okay with paying these kids but within moderation. We haul off and pay a kid one year and then he “outplays” his contract and he’s leaves. Then what? Where are we?

We raised $3.5m in NIL last year across all sports.

The majority goes to FB, then Men’s Basketball.

Every player on the football team is making some $. The guys you might expect to be making more are making more.

The amount of money we’re raising is tiny compared to other schools.

That being said, I don’t think NIL is our largest issue.

About what I expected. Seven of the top ten in spending are SEC schools. Definitely, not a basketball league first and foremost.

We raised 3.5 Million. Nico at UT is making how much lol. This is what I’m talking about. We may be 17th in NIL but we ain’t even in the same conversation with those schools. It shows with the decommitments. So how do yall expect us to compete? When you got schools paying a single player more than we’ve raised for TWO sports.
