of the chains last evening?
Riley's third down calls are easy to figure out....always a screen or underneath throw.
Anything longer than 3rd and 2 is going to be a pass and it will rely on YAC.

More concerned with the number of swing passes, including a sequence where we threw consecutive swing passes to opposite sides of the field. All of this contributed to a 1/13 on 3rd down conversions.

I've honestly never seen worse play calling and QB decision making in those situations. It is a constant problem and so easy to see and dissect. Bad, bad decision making.

To be fair some of those play calls surely had routes going down the field. Possibly they were covered and Cade checked it down, possibly Cade doesn’t have the football IQ needed to make proper decisions. Or the OL allowed pressure and Cade felt like he needed to get rid of it. Surely blame rests with Riley to. But when you’re that bad on 3rd down it wasn’t just one coach or player.

It's an every week, every game play call. Clemson has to have one of the easiest film studies by opponents.
I'm not sure about Cade's football iq, but I have ascertained just from watching him all this time he does not have a working inner clock qbs need. He's holding onto the ball for 5 seconds when he should be releasing it at 3 seconds. He's a frustrating talent that could have been.

Seemed like it. I was yelling at the TV for them to throw it past the chains but it didn’t help.

Tristan Smith dropped two balls that hit him in the numbers just past the sticks. I can't remember if they were 3rd downs or not, but it was a bad night for him.
