I'll give CBB some credit, he's developed some good players, but far too many of his recruits require that development time, no star recruits. That hurts.

Being upset with Brad not winning more shows a real lack of understanding of our basketball history at Clemson as well as an ignorance of how poorly our program is supported compared to many other programs.
People who expect him or any other coach to have us as a consistent top 25 team, given the current constraints on the program, are clueless.
With that said, I can certainly understand those who feel that things have gotten stale and believe that a change could inject some new excitement around the program - especially if they want more investment in the program and recognize that it will be necessary to have the kind of success they want to have.

I think it’s okay to want a good basketball team and expect to go to the real tournament more than once every 5 years. We expect baseball to go to Omaha, we expect football to be in cfp. It’s not unreasonable to want a basketball team that competes nationally. Expect more. Thanks for your service CbB. There’s no reason Clemson can’t compete nationally in basketball.

basketball program. Also, not much excitement or energy that a new younger coach could bring us. We can put all kinds of money into our program (that would be great) but I’m convinced Brownell wouldn’t be much more successful than he is now with all that money and a new facility for basketball. He’s had years here to show us what he can do and it hasn’t been impressive most years.
I have no problem with him personally but I feel he’s been here long enough.

I've been listening to him since he came on the air. The old Walt would've called for DJ to be benched midseason 2021. Instead, he's talking about DJ for Heisman in 2022. The old Walt would've admitted that Brownell's time is over. Now he's calling anyone who has a word of criticism...insane. This is what happens when financial interest cloud your judgment, you end up sounding like a fool.
