Rev no one said it was a turning point. It was unsportsmanlike by the band. I've seen lots of colleges since the 80s use their volume to try and effect play. Remember those plastic horns they outlawed?
I don't want the football players tackling the band members and I don't want the band trying to make the snap count impossible to hear.

Unsportsmanlike ? How about they field a football team that can figure out how to stop the other team from gaining just shy of 700 yds ?
They were unsportsmanlike in their failure to provide effective competition on the field of play .

Nah, no sarcasm. Just more antagonistic comments from Tiger “fan” 83. I disagree with him/her that “we” would be crying if this had happened to “us”. A college band playing during a college football game is simply part of college football. The game could have been played in a vacuum and the results would have been similar. Coach Clawson is quickly approaching Doeren-level douchebaggery.

Gimme a freaking break. With all the crying about Texas a&m's holding nobody complained about noise..
FSU's band is super loud and plays the tomahawk chop the entire game when they visit DV. I've never seen anybody crying about it

A&M also had the loudest PA I've heard short of a Rolling Stones concert. If they had played Start Me Up, I could have judged it vs The Stones! I did notive that this year the band plays up to the snap. It seems like they used to stop when the ref signals the ball in play other than on kickoffs.

I've seen plenty of refs throw flags if the crowd tried to shout down a snap count.
I think there should be a 5yd penalty if any band plays within 5 secs of a snap count.

Well, one thing I am convinced of - losing so badly at home has absolutely NOTHING to do with coaching. It's why we pay them millions. They are supposed to have a way to mute the opposing band, and he ust failed to do that. But the Wake team was well coached and it was not their fault for being so pathetic. Dadgum these old CLEMSON band members. What level will they stoop to next?

I was sitting very near the pep band...they din't do anything different than any other band...our pep band was larger that their full band...if anything, the predominately Clemson crowd was making noise WF was not use to . our band director is the best at sportsman ship...a real BS complaint

Well hell, the band couldn't hardly finish the fight song when we scored before they had to start playing it again for the next score. Little bit of WF defense could have given the band a chance to rest. Those poor kids in the band had to be out of breath by the end of the game!

It's been a while since I've been to a game at wake.
But as I recall, they used to pipe in loud noise over there PA system while we were on offense until the play clock was down to 10 or 5 seconds. Not sure if they still do since I haven't been there in a while. But it seems ironic that he would complain about something they did all the time.
