Will be a top 20 pick , just too athletic and too capable to pass up if you have the need for a good pass rusher. Would love to see my Steelers scoop Vic up , but he will be gone before their pick.

Just think, if we had fired Batson, Vic may have gotten 42/45 reps

It's not necessarily a positive for Batson...

If Batson couldn't put more than 235 lbs worth of good weight on Vic in five years yet another group can add 10+ lbs of good weight in two months I don't see it as an endorsement of Batson's abilities. The bench press numbers are good but then the knock on Joey has generally been a focus on weight lifting as opposed to functional strength.
I don't think this is going to end the S&C debate.
Just my opinion, -Moon

Beasley will go top 10. This pick alone should put to rest the bs argument by coots that our coaches can't develop talent. Beasley was not what he is today before getting coached up and going through our strength and conditioning program. Good luck tomorrow

Adding some bodyweight often helps with strength (especially steroid free).

Dang.
I didnt realize Baston had an unlimited supply of suppliments, 24-7 access to players, a personal chef for their personal diets, and only a handful of players to personally work with.
Oh, wait. That's what your AGENT gets for you before the NFL Combine.
Man. I feel stoopid now.
Some people need to get back on the turnip truck and go cheer for the Coots. Hard to believe we have fans that can be this dumb.

Batson may not have some of those benefits that you listed, but he does have one huge thing - 4 years. I'm not necessarily in the boat that wants him gone, but after our O Linemen weighed in waaaaay undersized, I think that some of his practices need to be reevaluated. Here is a good, in-depth post concerning the intricacies of S&C: http://bit.ly/18dYK5h I've always been a huge fan of a good S&C program, it's how less talented programs such as TCU, Boise, KSU, etc, compete with the big boys. Ours may not be terrible, but if there is any way that it can be improved, I'm all for it.

I am not sure how they (NFL) measure arm length, so I don't if he is considered longer than normal. Still very good though. I did that BP test once, but I was older (40) and heaver (275).

The Combine has him listed as a LB; 35 reps is the 3rd best
Feb 21, 2015, 8:04 PM

in the NFL combine over the 10 years they have listed on the website. Two guys listed as LB edged him out with 36 reps each, but they were both 10-20 lbs heavier.
For a guy who was criticized for lack of size and strength, 246 lbs with 35 reps will do a lot to prove his critics wrong.

Dang hes got long arms too, which makes it harder...shorter armed dudes usually do much better on bench press... didnt realize Beasley was that strong, helps explain his dominance for sure. Gotta love seeing Vic and Grady at the top

You have to he an absolute beast to bench 225 that many times. I knew he was strong, but I had no idea he was that strong. Good for Vic. Now I hope he comes out and blazes through his 40 yard dash.
