California contributes 70 billion more in tax rev than it gets in back govt spending.
Welfare red states would be even worse of shape if it wasn't for them.

They have 10-30x more population, 100x more homeless and poo on the streets and the govt had to be saved from bankruptcy more than once. Don't matter how much they make in taxes if they can't manage their own state.

Lower homicide rate, lower gun death rate, higher life expectancy, lower maternal mortality rate...
seems pretty well managed to me.

To be fair, they also get the lion’s share of federal funding, which helps generate those tax dollars. For example; Look at all the military installations which generate revenue for the surrounding communities. It’s huge.

They do not count the $60 billion in defense spending that supports their industry in the total receipt of federal dollars. It also has the largest mark of a doomed economy with their biggest business being financial services....meaning those who make nothing to whom you have to go to get permission to make something....you can hear the state's chest rattle around the world.

With the largest debt in the US. Last report around 1.6 trillion. Over 100,000 per resident. Not sure how people rave about an economy that runs in the RED. Must be Democrat logic.

you liberals always try to go with that theory and yet fail to mention without government funded projects in relation to military spending and military related research projects (61.7 billion a year ) due to their location to the Pacific, the state would be in foreclosure tomorrow. So that guy in South Carolina you described that needs California’s money so much to survive , is actually sending his tax money to D.C. and it gets redirected to California to prop up the economy. Do a little research on why so many movies and tv shows are being made in other places besides California, even the liberals are trying to run away from the high taxes.
They’d essentially be Iowa with nothing but farming and illegals waving Mexican flags if not for government spending

.... you are focusing on politics.
But, Eastern California - specifically the mountains - is gorgeous.
I've spent two vacations in Yosemite and Sequioia National Parks. There is more "Wow!" per square foot in Yosemite than any other place on earth. (Spent 3-4 weeks total in those two parks.) Even Death Valley is a great place to spend a few days on vacation.
The northern CA mountains are georgous as well. The drive from Sacramento up through Lassen Volcanic National Park on the way to Crater Lake is wonderful.
So, maybe just get rid of the people, but leave the beautiful part of the state for us to go visit on vacation.
BTW, little geographic fact about CA. Within a 50 mile radius in eastern CA you can find. 1. The highest point in the continental US, Mt. Whitney 2. The lowest point in the western hemisphere, Badwater Basin in Death Valley. 3. The oldest living thing on earth, a bristlecone pine tree, Methuselah. 4. The largest living thing on earth, General Sherman tree.

On my list to go see them. Also Redwoods National Park, has Hyperion, the tallest known tree in the world.
Even though California’s pretty loony, there are as you say, plenty of great things to see.

than to spend like crazy just because debt is cheap. Serious, thoughtful leaders know that cheap debt isn't necessarily forever and make disciplined decisions for the long term viability of the institution they were/are tasked to lead. Thank you for OP 🐅🐅🐅
I wonder how many times a day Lincoln Riley longs for OU. And I wonder if BV wishes he had stayed at Clemson ?? I bet the real USC is sitting around a conference table rolling change wishing this was happening to the fake USC aka coot University. It could be possible that this is the Creat California Earthquake geologist have been predicting for years. They did not know that those nasty words “ NIL, Revenue Sharing and Greed would be the cause of the shift in the San Andreas fault that caused the Great Quake that began in California !!!
Is USC the start of the Category 5 + disaster and is it headed towards college football and other college athletics ??? Have players finally demanded more than college athletics can sustain ??? Is this the beginning of the collapse of the house of cards. ??? If it is the predicted Great Financial Reset in the United States, it is because we have continually ignored numerous warnings over decades that we were spending more than we were making !!! Hopefully it will be limited to USC or just a few schools. Some could not appreciate what they had.
A good friend who was an Associate AD at a DII University told me 4 or 5 years ago all of the money being paid out to coaches and athletics was not sustainable. He said this day would eventually come.
Will Chicken Little now run around clucking the Sky is really falling this time ??? Did those bad tasting words “NIL , Revenue Sharing and Greed finally bring down college athletics ??? Can we put part of the blame on professional athletes for their Greed in helping to start the collapse of the house of cards ???
I honestly don’t know the answers !!! I hope and pray that I am dead wrong. I hope that my most post is just a bunch of rambling nonsense.
I am so Blessed and Grateful to be a part of the Clemson Family and so Thankful we have some very smart intelligent people running our athletic programs. I believe Clemson saw this coming many years ago. I believe this is why Clemson is not in the financial disaster USC is in. And we have coaches and administrators trying keep these new payouts as fair as possible while maintaining Clemson’s special Culture. I know many of you are having to pay a lot more into IPTAY dues so if you sale your parking pass or your tickets for a profit I would not blame you. In today’s athletic world who could blame you 🐅🐅🐅
This legal BS actually started in 2009 when Nebraska football player Sam Keller filed a lawsuit against EA Sports, the NCAA and a College Licensing Company. It began with image and likeness being that included College Athletes.
I would have been satisfied to be talented enough to play at the college level while receiving a free education. Over the next several years after the original lawsuit. these younger athletes became enabled, greedy and wanted more. They wanted $$$$$$$ !!
In 2010 former UCLA basketball ball player Ed O’Bannon aka The Father of NIL filed his lawsuit. Then several former college athletes jumped on board, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell and former OSU athlete Ray Ellis and former Cincinnati athlete Tate George became part of the lawsuit that became bigger and bigger until it could not be stopped!!! It went all the way up to the US Supreme Court.
I personally think any college athlete that receives money for their athletic services should have to pay some or all of their college tuition. Why should most students who help fund athletics and attend college for an education have go in the thousands of dollars in debt for their education while the athletes are receiving a free education, other perks and are being compensated to !!!!!!!
Now we all know part of the story but it may be some time before we know the rest of the story, 🤔
Maybe some of those on Tigernet who are financial genius’s out there will have some input. I would welcome others thoughts and opinions.
I apologize for such a negative post but it is so frustrating to see so many people being priced out of events that have been a major part of your life for decades. Especially those who are Clemson Alumni or are parents of Clemson Graduates 🐅🐅🐅 🤬
