That sorta negates 2 of the good wins. No way they should be ahead of Missouri. Let's take a look. Missouri played 5 teams in final AP poll (2,4,17,18,24) SC played 5 teams in final AP poll (5,8,10,22,24)
Both lost 2 games. Missouri would have only lost 1 had they not played an extra game in the SEC championship.
Common opponents: Vandy--Missouri W by 23, SC W by 10 UGa--Missouri W by 15, SC L by 11 Fla--Missouri W by 19, SC W by 5 Tenn--Missouri W by 28, SC L by 2 Kent--Missouri W by 31, SC W by 7
Looking at 1 common opponent is usually worthless, but when all 5 common opponents show Missouri significantly better, that's important.
So does a head-to-head win in 2OT after Missouri misses 24 yard FG really mean more than the above stats? I think not.

Kudos to Dabo, staff & team.
It'll be great to see the Clemson helmet in the backdrop of CFB Live (and on the CFB front pages of ESPN.com, SI.com, et al) all off-season. Should be good for recruiting.
Two more positive things about Clemson and the Orange Bowl win that I was thinking about...
That was a hard-hitting game and Clemson really manned up. It reminded me of that respectable loss to Auburn a few years ago. Big boy football. No wilting. No giving up. Win or lose THAT kind of football makes me proud of the team.
I respect the OSU program’s perennial success and Meyers’ coaching ability but… I HATE OSU for being a program that wins-at-all costs, turns-a-blind-eye, slaps-people-on-the-wrist-for-bad-behavior. They turned a blind eye with Hayes and Tressel. That crap where they let Terrell Pryor, et al play the bowl game and let them take their punishment after the bowl game (knowing that they’d all jump to the NFL to avoid punishment) was some of the worst behavior I’ve ever seen by a school. Similarly, I started to despise Meyer at UF when he did stuff like barely slapping Brandon Spikes on the wrist for eye-gouging. I’m not sure what happened with the Spence suspension at OSU, but it was levied by the B1G, not by OSU, which makes me think that Meyers would have let Spence play despite the (steroid?) violation. Kudos to Dabo and Clemson for winning while running far more respectable programs, and punishing players for bad behavior. (I can’t imagine Meyer suspending Sammy for 3 games.) It was great to see the good guys beat the bad guys.
