Upstate SC projected to get 70mph winds and 5-10" of rain by Friday

Not sure why the students are building floats on Bowman right now. That pomp and those frat tents are going to fly with 50mph+ winds.
Who is running this thing???
UPDATE: Homecoming Floats are coming down at 3pm today, per David Hood.
Well, that stinks, but probably a smart option.

The one good part about the hurricane is I get to go to the game most likely if I-85 isn't underwater.

Interesting. National Hurricane Center website says 48 hour wind speed probability for the upstate is 10 to 15 mph.

Downtown Greenville had a violent storm last night with serious wind gusts. Lots of trees down, power out, and homes damaged. Floats would be toast.

That was a storm in Greenville only, not hurricane related.

Will be lucky to have power even on Saturday if the wind speed reaches what the weather people are saying.

Welp, if it’s anything like Charleston forecasts you’ll have a drizzle and light breeze. They always seem to sensationalize these forecasts to “protect the public safety”

In 1995-1997 I lived right behind TTT in an old motel like building converted to apartments. Old Greek soccer coach supposedly owned them. Anyway, some of best memories were jumping on my bike and riding around Bowman as floats were built for homecoming. I wish them the best but nature about to wreak havoc on our alma mater and our time state.

And you would know I took out my rain gear b/4 leaving SAV to visit CLT for a week since needed extra storage.

Latest has it going west of Atlanta and heading to Chattanooga.
Reports have to give worst case scenario.
Living in FL for 50 years I've learned to live with this creed:
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and expect something in between.
I've been through all 3 cases. Normally it is somewhere between worst and best, but closer to best than worst.
I imagine Clemson will experience rain, but nothing close to damaging winds.

They're predicting 4" of rain over the next 24 hours here in metro Atlanta, but my main concern is trees falling on the house.
Anyway, sounds like the students better make sure those floats literally float this year.

We are already getting the effects here in Melbourne Florida and we are on the opposite side of the state. Winds are supposed to get up to 60mph this evening and pretty much stay there through out the day tomorrow. Looks to be not that bad for rain...4 inches or so.
You guys might be in for the worst end of it. The rain map shows 6-8" of rain Friday. Clear for the game Saturday though. Might be a fantastic mudbowl..

On the otherhand. It has now been downpouring for an hour straight. We probably have 4" of rain right now and the storm isn't even close yet.
