One: Belichick wants absolute power, always.

Two: I just cannot even envision Bill Belichick trying to navigate NIL. It is ludicrous to even consider.

would be a complete different direction from how the guy is used to handling a team and I cant see him doing any booster begging

They just fired an old fart who hated recruiting and couldn’t adapt to the evolving college game. So naturally you replace him with an even bigger curmudgeon who hasn’t recruited HS kids ever in his life.
