different types and hard to compare. but overall, Clemson. they have a better running game and o line. we have a better throwing game. if they are able to run the ball against us, keep our o on the sideline for half of the time and number of plays we usually run, it will help them. but if we get a lead, they will have to throw, and that plays in our favor. Georgia cant afford to get in a shoot-out with us at home. they will have to run the ball to win. turnovers will also be a big factor as they always are. Georgia's defense will be very young and inexperienced which will be big for our offense.

QB - slight edge CU. Mainly due to Boyd's ability to scramble and extend plays. Murray is streaky and prone to throw a bad pick. But Boyd is pretty familiar with throwing interceptions also, throwing 13 in 2012. the edge here is very slight. O line - edge UGA. We return the entire starting 5 and 3 good backups. Were veteran and deep. Backs - huge edge UGA. Gurley and Marshall = a true, punishing run game. McDowell is a sneaky back who will get unlooked for yards to add to Boyd's scrambling. TE - edge UGA. Lych and Rome are both better than Steckinger. WR's - edge Clemson. Watkins is elite, Peake and Bryant were both, IIRC, former #1 WR recruits. The Clemson system favors greater WR production and our secondary (with the loss of JHC) doesn't match up very well.
Overall I'd say UGA has the better offense. I'll take a punishing ground game over an explosive passing game any day of the week.

It takes more than just a QB and 3 WR's to make an offense. Do you think your backs are better? Your TE's? Your offensive line that replaces a great center?
Evaluate the offenses objectively and it's not hard to see that UGA has advantages at these positions that offset the Clemson QB-WR tandem.

Jawja has an outstanding O-line, thus their RB success. I am however, not totally convinced that either Gurley OR Marshall is better overall than McDowell....
And yes, I am serious!! Jawja fans can blast me all they want, but that offensive line would make any D-1 back look better.
As for QB and WR....not even close.
Murray is good, but Boyd is better irregardless of "conference", and if any "Jawja" fans say ANY of their receivers are as good as Watson, they are just making themselves look like a fool.
Go Tigers!!!

You've got it backwards. Our O line is pretty good but not dominant. Theus is a great talent. The rest are overachievers. And then we've got 3 good backups, not great backups. Gurley makes a lot happen on his own. And he's not that polished of a runner. When he learns to bend and get behind his pad he's going to be truly great. Marshall's coming into his own, adding weight to a frame that barely contains unreal speed. Both are better than McDowell.
No, UGA doesn't have a WR thats close to Watkins. Mitchell is every bit the athlete Watkins is but he's not nearly as polished in his routes and doesn't get the seperation Watkins gets. Here's a comparison of 2012 stats for UGA and CU's recievers:
Watkins = 57 catches for 708 yards and 3 TD's Peake = 25 catches for 172 yards and 2 TD's Bryant = 10 catches for 305 yards and 4 TD's 92 catches for 1185 yards and 9 TD's
Mitchell = 40 catches for 572 yards and 4 TD's Bennett = 24 catches for 345 yards and 4 TD's Conley = 20 catches for 342 yards and 6 TD's 84 catches for 1259 yards and 14 TD's
The production we have coming back is actually better than Clemsons.

well if all our best players run a race in street clothes, they will tie, but if they put the SEC logo on the Georgia players, the SEC speed gives them a half second off their time. So I guess it has to be UGA.

is better. IF our defense can stop UGA in a similar manner to how they stopped LSU, and can give up less big plays....
Our offense will roll and have the advantage because of the tempo. Our talent and tempo is not utilized if our defense can't give them the chance to run 100 plays. If our defense can't get the ball back in Tajh's hands, our offense actually works as a detriment because it wears the defense out.
If our defense plays like they did against LSU, we will win. We physically wore out LSU's defense in that game in embarrassing fashion in the 4th quarter, and that was a testament to our defense playing well. But I know for a fact UGA does not have a coach as dumb/arrogant? as Les Miles who will toss the ball when he should run it and burn clock.
