How do we know she didn't acknowledge Clemson's accomplishments? This article only has a few quotes out of what was probably a 15-minute press conference.

Good point to say we don't know what all she said. And don't sweat, no matter what.

Correction...UCLA Athletics department fails to credit Clemson anywhere on their website. Based on quotes given, it appears the head coach also failed to properly acknowledge her opponent.
Does that make you feel better? Find me a full interview if you want to make a logical argument.

She basically said that they were the better team and Clemson was lucky to win it. Poor loser.

the majority of the game was played on Clemson's half of the pitch and UCLA outshot Clemson by a pretty healthy margin, but none of that means a thing if the ball doesn't find the back of the net.

Clemson wasn't a total bunker approach but was definitely more conservative, much more defensive/risk adverse whereby our coach approach definitely did not to let UCLA play with space in out backfield.
But 12 shots, 4 on goal before pk to UCLA's 24 shots I think - that isn't true bunker. In the first half it was only 12-7 but after we got the point, D went hard. Normally a bunker game as you normally only see a handful of shots total (like 5) from a single handful of counters. Yeah Clemson was definitely on the defensive and then countering but we were pushing in space. However, any "great" team is going to face a lot of bunker opponents and those that win are going to be bunker-busters,.
And again, it is a team game that is about scoring points, not just possession or shots. You got to capitalize on opportunities. Finally, the only real individual showdown - in goal -we were the better squad.

It's not about time of possession or who has more shots on goal. It's about scoring.
Great win for our Lady Tigers.

People from the south are pretty big on respect, but those foreigners out in Cali, they don't have any respect for themselves, so we can't expect them to respect anything, or anybody!!!!

so...
Not everyone makes it a point to acknowledge the other team in the press conference. We've been conditioned by it b/c Dabo does it so much.
No where in the rule books do we have to always praise, acknowledge the other team. Yeah, it's nice to do so but it's not required.

Winners laugh and losers say deal dang it deal. The comments somehow seem like those after our baseball team was in a losing streak. Winners are happy and losers make excuse.

You and I don't know how their coach really is.
We just beat them.
Maybe things were taken out.
If their coach didn't give credit to the Clemson team the way Dabo gives credit to the opposing team, I can't really criticize her for that.
However, with what was included in the article, she did say, "They were in the game because they were able to get numbers on the ball, sit back and make it hard for us."
If you're not happy with that, then I don't know what else to tell you.

giving credit to the other team when we lose? Probably not.
They outshot us 26-14. That’s a frustrating loss. Her comments are fine.

Because scoring is at such a premium in soccer, soccer punishes defensive errors and failure to finish more so than any other sport I know. UCLA had 2 gimmes late in the game and they failed to finish them both. Clemson came with a plan that they felt gave them the best chance to win.....and then they executed it. UCLA didn’t.

I saw a lot of waiting on the attack and then just kicking it away when they got it. Perhaps that's a winning strategy in soccer but I would argue it led to giving up a goal at the 87th minute.
My point is simply that we seem to think opposing coaches must start by heaping praise on Clemson, which is always a nice and classy thing to do but it doesn't make the inverse "classless". And I doubt any of us ever come on here and express our frustration after a loss that our coaches focused on how we screwed up or some tough calls or bad luck instead of simply praising the opponent.
The coach was frustrated and thought they outplayed us but couldn't connect. That's soccer, yes, but it's also frustrating.

All I know is that we beat them after they played their best game of the season. I do not know that we played our best game. But coaching and strategy does make a difference and it seems like ours was better in this instance.
My final thoughts are "I do not care about UCLA"!

An equally compelling case could also be made that her (UCLA's) side lacked creativity going forward. Which they did.
That's "futbol" for you---sometimes a defensive posture, though less entertaining and cynical--wins it.
Great win, lady Tigers!

That's some fairly stupid coach-speak for her to essentially say "we played our best game yet and found a way to lose a playoff game". They had their chances and came up short. We were better and that's that.

Why would you even go to UCLABruins.com if you don’t want to read an article that is written from our opponent’s perspective? We’ve become a fan base that cares far too much about what other people think about our programs when it means less than nothing.

Her comments are for the UCLA fans who want to hear about the game from their perspective.
Apparently UCLA women’s soccer has had two straight #1 recruiting classes and several of the twitter comments in their loss thread last night were pretty disappointed in the early round loss. They see the team as underachieving
