Have you guys heard about this? Trump launched an official crypto coin on Friday night and it's now worth over $70 billion, including the 80% share of coins that he kept for himself. From $0.20/coin to it's current price of more than $70. There was an insider (probably one of Trump's kids) who bought $1 million worth of the coin 1 minute after it launched, and later sold them for $120million. It's a pump and dump like all meme coins, but who knows how high it might go.

Trump? Meh. He will be fine. Trump has better advisors on this. Trump is now a crypto billionaire and he didn't even have to pay off one public official, or send anyone on any zoning committee to Cabo or Cancun for an all expenses paid vacation.
Trump will be cashing out eventually, slowly. He has four years to pump and dump.

And keep in mind, he is untouchable, completely beyond the reach of the law. Teflon Don.
Even if he commits crimes that are not official acts, he knows that he will not be prosecuted.
It’s clear he’s going to apply no regulation to the crypto industry.
This is easy money for him. Pump and dump. Tens of millions, maybe be a couple billion, pretty easy to do.
These activities can become a little more sustainable and long-term, if he puts a portion of the US government reserves in crypto, ideally $Trump coin. Then he convinces central banks around the world to put X percent of their reserves in crypto. Then if he convinces them to put X percent into $Trump coin, he and his kids can become the richest people in the history of the world by far.
And there’s no going back. Nobody will be able to retrieve that money from them.
And there’s no way to prosecute them. The Maga folks that voted for him because he was going to lower the price of gasoline or eggs will still be living paycheck to paycheck and Trump will be 10 times richer than Elon Musk.

It's a scam, but you could have made a lot of money if you got in early enough. I'm sure the people who were told about it ahead of time all did very well for themselves.

Being a degenerate, obviously I had to get in on this action ...
In order to even get the right crypto to buy these things is a PITA.
All of this "regulation" has made it so cumbersome. By the time I got into Sol to buy Melanias it had already 2x'd.
My position is hovering around 3x.
This is nothing serious. Good to learn how this ecosystem works, and now I gotta couple g's in there to sling crayons at memes.
To play devil's advocate, what's the difference in this and Ackman pumping Fannie and Freddie? Same thing right? I'm up big in those too

I just fundamentally cannot wrap my brain around these worthless “currencies,” no matter how many times I hear comparisons to fiat money, or pumping stocks, etc, I cannot grasp the concept of people spending money to obtain something that was invented from thin air and has no underlying value.
It’s all highly suspect to be honest, and absolutely reeks of exploiting vulnerable people. How is pumping and dumping your $diarrheacoin to your social media following any different than Sunjeep cold calling people’s memaws selling them “antivirus software”?
I also never understood the whole “NFT” thing either. I’m aware this might make me sound like old man yelling at cloud to people who are cool and hip enough to be in it but… I don’t know man, I think I’ll stick with investing my money in things that actually exist.

Trump coin isn't a currency. Like a Bitcoin. Or even Solana. It's just some NFT like meme coin #### that you purchase on Solana.
Don't allow these to get conflated.
I agree with you in principle. But I'm a guy who thinks the mona Lisa and my 3 year olds scribble hold the same value. Meaning, don't get hung up on the what. Trade the tape and get in and get out.
I don't take many investments "seriously". For example, I threw $400 at NFL playoff games yesterday.
Those that I do, I trade looking at all macros with actual impactful capital allocations.
So I don't understand it either. I know how to get in and get out and I know how to trade momentum. And I have an extremely regarded high appetite for risk ha

Have you Trumpers figured this out yet? See what Trump is doing? I doubt it.
Most of you won’t even pick up on it for a few years.
