Just got an alert on my phone about this… I know absolutely nothing about this guy besides the fact that he played on a BAD team. At least it is at a position of need. Seeing a lot about WR’s and did not believe that to be a huge need right now unless someone else besides Stellato is leaving.

I think Noble Johnson is leaving as well.
Plus, maybe some who have indicated they are leaning that way(not specific to WR).
Purdue was a bad team; so it meant offenses could scheme away from this player pretty easy. He still had a solid season.

The possibility that Antonio Williams will enter the NFL draft is why I suspect Clemson is seeking FIU portal WR Eric Rivers.
There’s room for Rivers even if A.Williams doesn’t depart, although if I’m E.Rivers I’d wait to see if A.Williams goes NFL before agreeing to come to Clemson.
Of course, I hope A.Williams stays for one more year of college ball. I think it would be good for him. Another year of S&C at Clemson will help to improve his speed a little bit more; he’ll be much more desirable to the NFL if he can get just a bit faster. He’s got everything else right now to be a fine NFL WR.

TNet had, in their article about the Purdue guy from earlier today, reported that he is the 39th ranked player overall from among portal entries.
30th is not an under-the-radar type player.

This is not the first portal player tbat Clemson has hosted. Sick of seeing posts like this is tbe invention of electricity or something. If it's a money deal, we will not deal in that. No need for any of these sites to build this stuff up until he is signed and committed. Not being a negative, but dang this portal BS has become exhausting. We will play with what we have and it's that simple. If the results aren't good enough, someone will make a change. Based on everything I've seen for tbe last few years, we fans have ZERO say. You either watch and support or you don't. Hopeful we get players but not too excited.

Purdue doesn’t accept just any low IQ idiot into their school; this is not a S.Carolina gamecock type player. Purdue MP3’s not quite at the academic elite level as Northwestern, but you get the idea.
I’m betting that this guy is smart enough to consider … in addition to simply a ‘highest bidder wins’ contest … other factors such as whether he’s going to be the only top shelf DE on his next team (a pair of top shelf DEs limits the ability of the offense to double team block one DE all the time with a OT + RB combo); whether the second string / depth players are not likely to beat him out, yet good enough to play enough snaps for the first string DEs to get some rest during the game; whether the DT group is strong enough to create the inside push that creates the situation in which the DEs can feast upon the QB; and whether the position coaches in the DL are good.
Clemson checks all of the nin-monetary boxes. Our monetary factor should be competitive, if not the top bid.
I think we’ve got a very good chance.
