Top 3 highest earning special teams coordinators...this kinda shocked me

1. $1.15 million: Jeff Banks, Texas

2. $900,000: Mike Reed, Clemson

3. $800,000: Joe DeCamillis, South Carolina

I hope Mike Reed goes back to focusing on just his defense backs group and Dabo goes out and gets a full time special teams coordinator.

Well, we aren't getting $2 dollars worth of special team play out of that $900,000. We have some of the highest paid coaches in CFB. We should be getting better development out of our players.

Agreed, Mike Reed was an awesome hire and a great great coach, but special teams was NOT his bag. I also think he's been wanting to move up or move on for quite some time. It may be time for a change of scenery for him. Hate to lose his experience but maybe he's just not giving it 100 anymore because things have gotten stale for him.

I think it’s a tertiary responsibility at best for Reed.

Are you blaming Reed for blocked kicks and a low punting avg?

What else are you meaning about special teams? Kickoffs and FG have been great, when they’re not blocked. The blocked kicks were a personnel issue that showed up just this season, and it was fixed when Woods moved back in his spot. Punting has seen inconsistency and a low average, but that’s limited to the punter and not coaching.

I’m not sure what you’re seeing as so wrong with special teams from a coaching standpoint.

Joe DeCamillis is full-time special teams coordinator.

Both him and Jeff banks learned from Sark

Learned from Sark? Joe D was Coaching Special Teams in the NFL when Sark was in Junior High.

I'm going to trust in Dabo to make the right hires for the FB team and I think that he will mainly bc I think he's gotten a little sick of hearing the talking heads talk about him being a one hit wonder and how he will never bring Clemson back to the promise land and that he is done. I don't believe that he is done and I'm going to bet that he doesn't believe that he's done either.

In Dabo I trust to right the direction our FB team has been going, and he will get us back at the top of college FB, Amen!!!

No, they didn't. Banks got his first big gig at A&M under Sumlin and became an ace recruiter. He then went to Bama under Saban, and later followed Sark. He's now more famous for dating a stripper nicknamed the "Pole assassin" who has a monkey that likes to bite people.

Banks: also assistant head coach
Reed: also assistant head coach and CB coach
DeCamillis: also associate head coach

Reed can’t be grouped with these other 2.

I get people some folks like Coach Reed but dang special teams has not been good here for years, and down right awful at times this season.

If I’m Dabo I’m taking care of special teams myself. Pump some life into that group.

After our trickly little special teams calls vs SCar in 2022 that ultimately cost us that game, I'd prefer Dabo just sub that position out. I don't think it's his forte.

Mike Reed is an excellent DB coach and we need to keep him, but given the amount of money we allocated to coaching budget I would like us to hire an actual special teams coach.

reed needs to focus on defensive backs because his dbs were a liability at times this year and the special teams were laughable so something has to change. Avion Terrell took a huge step backwards and obviously Barnes had a rough year also.

Terrell is Reed's responsibility
Barnes is Conn's responsibility

That number is misleading on Mike Reed. He is also our DBs coach. I do think we need an actual special teams coach, but I don't see that happening.
