I, for one, would have loved to be able to get out and attend a church service at Ma-in-Law's church today. But, right hip and knee pain picked today to flare up much worse, so here I am instead recliner bound and writing about it on TNET. Once a year, her church has a memorial service where they light candles for those who passed away in the past 12 months. She is among that number today. She is looking down from Heaven. Forgive me for not being there, Ma.

I have to pray for my own self today, as I am feeling very down over this. Having a stent put in my heart may have marginally helped that, but it has put me in a terrible box otherwise. I cannot take any of the normal arthritis inflammation reducing drugs now. I also cannot get a steroid injection into my back, hip, or knee to try and reduce inflammation and pain that way, due to mow being on a mandatory blood thinner for a minimum of one year. For the same reason, I cannot take any over the counter NSAIDS.

On a happier note, I give thanks for a Clemson win yesterday. It was far from perfect, but that W needs no real narrative description. A golfing buddy told me that once, many years ago. He said, the scorecard just wants a number, it don't ask for any explanations about how you arrived at that number. In reality, football is the same way. I think we have gotten far too invested in minutae about college football lately. If we can't just have pure joy over the fact that our young men WON the game, then we as fans have truly lost something. We really are looking the proverbial gift horse in the mouth, as it were. Today, let's not be mouth inspectors, ok?
