Today, we rest.

No, really. Yesterday I conned a friend of mine into partially rebuilding the back wooden steps to my deck. Treads had rotted to the point of danger, and believe it or not, I could not find a local handyman I could even get to give me a final estimate on that and some other work, for months now. My own health would only allow me to "supervise", working about 30 seconds out of every five minutes or so.

It took about four hours, and to say we BOTH were whipped at the end of that would be an understatement. My friend looked like somebody turned a garden hose on him, and I was probably the same. And this was while drinking cold bottled water almost constantly.

I will be using my walker to get to church today, what few muscles I have left feel so weak, I may fall over without it.

These are miniscule things compared to world problems. Pray for those who have REAL problems in the world, I will be just fine in a few days, relatively speaking. The Middle East has taken a turn for the worst, again it seems. I pray for Israel, regardless of public sentiment, they were not the original aggressor in this conflict, and for my money, they have the right to hunt and exterminate their enemies where ever they are, whenever they are. That's a REAL "Never Again".

In Jesus name, I pray for a return to normalcy in that part of the world, and may the hostages who are not already dead be returned to their families.

I turn 66 soon, and every day it gets more difficult to do the manual tasks that were easy to me at one point. Being on blood thinners makes it difficult any way. I pray for the peace of Israel. Amen.

I feel that getting put on blood thinner was the final nail in my "working" coffin, as well. I have to defer to the doctors on the benefits, I guess its like the effects of a traffic accident that doesn't happen.

Yes, he is. Friends like him are few and hard to find.
