I have a couple of things to be very thankful for this week.

The first is very personal. I don't get out in the yard much anymore, but I was coming back from an appointment Wednesday, and saw that briar vines had grown all the way into the top of a small Crepe Myrtle bush / tree in my yard. I grabbed them and was pulling with all my 295 lb might trying to dislodge them. Suddenly, I was successful, so much so that I was flying backwards, completely out of control, towards the ground.

I braced my mind for the fact that I was going to break something, probably a hip, when I hit the ground. It only occurred to me later, that my truck was only about six feet away from where I fell. If my head had contacted THAT on the way down, I could be dead right now. I landed as hard as you can land on my right hip / lower back area. This was the same side I had SA fusion on a couple of years ago. I kept expecting to hear a CRACK, and experience incredible pain. But, after laying on the ground long enough to get my wits about me, I realized that I hurt, but not sharp pains, and had not heard or felt any cracking. I crawled over to my rear truck tire, used it to pull myself up, and miraculously, was unharmed, except for soreness where I landed. I do consider that a miracle. Family members have broken hips with FAR less force than I hit the ground with. The Lord was definitley looking out for me.

The second thing I am thankful for is that an assassin was not able to alter the course of an American political election yesterday. You can like or dislike either candidate, but neither deserves to die by an assassins bullet. If you think they do, then I will pray for you, as well. May the Lord keep our country safe, as well as those who seek to lead it. In Jesus Name I pray,

Amen.

Snip those vines at the bottom and let Nature take its course. No need to tug on things that break loose.

Amen. Very glad you are ok. For someone who is on blood thinners I too need to be careful with falls.

Amen on both counts, 76er. I'm glad you came out of the accident without injury.
