Tnetters with long history of being "right" about QBs

Sep 8, 2014, 12:33 PM

Over the years on here I've seen the very vocal group of madden superstars cry for QB change.

They cried for Willie Simmons to replace Woody Dantzler
They cried for Will Proctor to replace Charlie Whitehurst
They cried for Cullen Harper to replace Proctor
They cried for Willy Korn to replace Harper
They cried for Kyle Parker to replace Harper and now they are crying for Deshaun Watson to replace Cole Stoudt.

After so many times of those criers being right, why aren't the coaches listening to them???

oh wait.

This might be relevant if any of those mentioned qb's had half the talent DW does

According to many on here, Willy Korn had more talent than any QB in Clemson history.

It didn't quite work out that way though.

The relevance is that the criers always seem to know better than the coaches.

Give DW a chance to pick up all the nuances not just of this offense but playing at the speed in college as well. Its much easier to come in off the bench and run a few plays you're familiar with than manage an entire game at QB

I don't remember ever hearing #2.

Will Proctor did better than I expected though.

I am pretty sure #2 did not happen

I also remember T-net saying to put Boyd in his freshman year, and I still think that was the best option. He would not have done worse.

Danny Ford said it years ago.....

the most popular player on the team is always the back-up QB.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Still true today.***

No one ever called for Cullen Harper to start over Proctor

Sep 8, 2014, 1:04 PM

He never looked good as a backup, that's why we were all surprised he played over Korn.

But you are also lumping everyone in, so if anyone calls for any one of those then basically everyone calls for all of them.

I've been a Clemson fan all my life 43 years. I've always had trust in the coaches. I also know that you can have a good QB with no protection or no good WR or RB. I've never been that fan that blames the QB for everything. I've also NEVER seen a true freshmen QB at Clemson that has looked like Watson has in so limited a time. It jumps out at you like Sammy did his first game. He's got IT. He has looked much better than Stoudt when he has played. It's not like we havnt seen him on the field and Stoudt has been awful. We have seen what Watson can do. You don't let talent like that sit on the bench unless the guy in front of him is much better and Stoudt isn't its not even close!

Yeah whitehurst was a 4 years starter, and all of the others were multi year dryers with GAME EXPERIENCE, SEASONED IN GAMES! Not just practice! Watson is a true freshmen and has played in as many games as Stoudt that mean something
