Clemson might not return at all to the top 25 if they don’t start playing better.

Style points only matter if you’re not in the SEC. They matter in the SEC only if they reflect well on the program scoring them, otherwise they are are rendered worthless since they don’t support the forced narratives.

"A Football Outsiders alum like the SP+, the FEI metric has Clemson at No. 21, with the No. 34 offense, No. 2 defense and an FBS-worst special teams group."
I'll take #2 defense every year and I think, that given time, Wes Goodwin will continue to produce at a high level. I hope we can maintain our outstanding position coaches on the defense.
#34 offense seems fair. Much better than the past two years with an upward trajectory. Give GR some grace and some time and he will continue to improve and show us the same type of results he produced at SMU and TCU. Swinney personally wined, dined, and collected this man for a reason. Time will tell.
I would very much like to see some form of improved coaching on the special teams units. This staff is too talented to not have the answers - our Jimmy's and Joe's are just fine. I deplore Urban Meyer, but he personally coached his special teams and only allowed his best players to be a part of that unit. They were nasty in that phase of the game. Our punt coverage has been great, but FG blocking needs to be better.
Any chance we hire a sports psychologist to work with the kickers on their mental game? Worked out for Costner in Tin Cup...

The kickers failures started off being technical they may be amplified more by mentality.

Weitz hits it straight on extra points… The mechanics should be the same even when adding more power for longer kicks. However, if he knows he hooks the ball, he should adjust his approach angle or learn to hit it straight.
A factor also could be the holder… remember 0310 St’s terrible miss in the semi-final? That was the holder’s fault, not the kicker’s.
As far as Gunn’s woes, I watched him take some practice swings without the ball during halftime of the Wake game and on one, he swung, was off balance, and had to take two steps back to keep from falling down. That’s bad balance and technique… definitely a technical issue (at that was without a ball)

You mean the cbs poll that has lsu at 22? No credibility in that but as others have said, just win baby. 10-2 is the best we can do and we’ll be solidly ranked if we do and won’t be if we don’t.

I wonder what the need was to post this article? Correct forget top 4, forget top 10, forget top 25. Why stop at 133 let’s include FCS, Soccer and rugby. That makes probably about 300 teams. Wow, I feel better now. everybody is noted the obvious problems. I’m hoping CK2 will mature and we kick but next year.
