There should have never been an option on that play. How many times have we seen and heard of the QB having an option in a critical situation and they make a boneheaded play. You can take the blame Cade but that is on the coaches for giving you the option.
That was a direct call in QB sneak call even if you have to call it 2 times in a room from that distance.

Should Cade have an option there, no. Should have run the ball for sure but the colossal failure is the WR’s didn’t block AGAIN. That position group has not been the same since Jeff Scott left.

That's spot on. Like Cade said, you got 3 on 2 there. Hindsight is 2020 but a TD ties it. But, that said, Cade has to know it's rarely worked this year because the wr don't block.
We've been out talented in many years but this isn't one of them. We have the talent to be 4-0. What, is it 5 times now that Shipley has either knocked the ball out of Cades hands or nearly knocked it out... it's just a lot of mistakes.
Nobody wants to admit this, but some of the coaching mistakes and player mistakes we've seen has been happening the entire Dabo era. We just had 2 generation q b s that overcame them.

"WR''s didn't block again". I've been waiting for someone to hit on that. It is very rare we get a decent block from a WR out there.
Even so, it was a poor call and shouldn't have been an option for Cade.
As a whole, our boys played quite well, out played FL. State...and we lost.
I have got the serious sads. 😔

The Qb has a read on every play. Shows you never played the position. I hate to defend him. But, they are ALWAYS reading the defense. SMH. This loss was ugly. Losing to dook was ugly. The last seven games were ugly. That’s due to nepotism on Dabo’s part. Look at DJ. He’s playing well and in position to beat Washington state. Because this staff isn’t screwing him up.

So you saying, if a QB sneak is called, the QB has the option to go deep? I believe the coach has the last call in a circumstance like this. Doubt you'll see this again on 3rd & 1.

Never should have had the option. Two stud running backs and two plays to get less than a yard, it is not the time for an option. This is 100% a COACHING LOSS. Dabo trying to do Goodwin’s job, Riley not doing his job. And Dabo not doing his. Cade is a class act, but he needs his coaches to do their job.

I’m proud of the players. They were not perfect but overall played well enough to win somewhat comfortably.

8 and 5, 9 and 4 just isn’t good enough any more. Not when the coaching staff is making 15 to 20 mill a year and we lose games with asinine coaching decisions/mistakes.

Those guys are just devastated because we played so hard and outplayed FSU except for the fumble and the final score. The game was a classic Clemson-Florida State game that was one of the best ever. Our guys have to have pride and move on and make the long trip to Syracuse and beat a good team.

Well as noted - should not have been up to him at that point - it's not like he is a 5-year player. Also, agree, should never have gotten to that point. Did he also call that stupid "trick play" when we were running down the clock - I have no doubt we could have run it down closer of scored if we just kept giving it to Ship!
And oh by the way, why did "Chucky" decide to just allow FSU to march down the field with no opposition and gain momentum back going into the half. That Prevent D prevented us from winning as has been said before.
I put this one squarely on the shoulder of BOTH coordinators- not Cade!

Cade Klubnik is a great young man and a great QB. Clemson is in really good hands. We will not win the national championship this year, but we can still have a great year and put ourselves in position to win it all next year.

Sure, I will be criticized that I am implying that only Clemson has true character and integrity. I am NOT implying this.
I am fiercely asserting that I love the character, integrity, courage, and commitment shown by the players on this team and practically ALL of the Clemson football teams of my lifetime.
Sure, some players on this team have their NIL contracts (including Cade) and good for them. As Ryan Day stated a couple of years ago, that he needed $13M to keep the roster in place. I’m sure that number may have DOUBLED by now into the range of $25M.
In the past, it wasn’t ALL about money.
There was still some tidbits of student-athlete, love-for-the-game, school-pride, etc. But, for sure now it is 100% about the money.
The way the player roster will have to be built (even if Clemson could afford $25M/year to attract the best players) will NOT consist of what is now remnants of a team built around character, integrity, love-for-the-game, pride.
The Clemson Tigers will ALWAYS be my team. I’ve just got to RESET my expectations, because those MIRACULOUS, GLORIOUS SIX (6) years in the CFP were EUPHORIC, MAGICAL, almost MYSTICAL in nature as I look back on those years with such SATISFACTION and JOY.
Feels like the Clemson football that we loved for 100 years has pretty much “gone the way of the dodo”.

Just stupid. Time to grow up, stop making stupid plays and stupid decisions. Not high school anymore, it's big boy football. You have to think about what's going on before you snap the ball. Deserve all of the flack coming. Sometimes young men need a good tail chewing or sit that tail on the bench and think about what got you there.
