Two Words... Transfer Portal.
We need receivers who can separate, we need an O-line that can block, and frankly, I am disappointed in the defense too. They just don't have that same energy that we have seen in years past with a BV defense. Zero sacks, no containment, letting receivers get open, poor tackling... This is the worst Clemson team I have seen in over a decade. I am looking at our schedule and at this point, I have zero confidence that we even make it to a bowl game with the way we played tonight.
But this offense looked the same as we saw with Streeter and DJU. This is on the O-line and this is on the receivers. Also Cade has got to stop running backward when he gets pressure, there were several plays where he could have tucked it and run it NORTH AND SOUTH. So many mistakes. It makes you wonder if its deeper than just the players, there are position coaches that are in question, especially our WR Coach. Only one look to Brinny all game. Dropped passes. Mistakes after mistake after mistake.
TWO FUMBLES INSIDE THE TEN.
Inexcusable. errors at the point of attack.
TWO BLOCKED FIELD GOALS.
If you just make your points, we win this game. But this line, both in drop back passing situations and on special teams, this line looks pedestrian. I have been concerned about our O-line since Trevor Laurence was our QB, and it has gotten worse and worse each year. Our players are not developing like they should be. We had two walk in touchdown opportunities we fumbled on, and both were on the O-line. The defense was in the backfield at the handoff mesh. Then the INT... Klubnik was just off all night on his passing. Overthowing shaky passes early, 3 and outs, drops, and throwing behind the receivers. The INT was behind Ship, and if it was in front he is catching it for 15-20 yards. No rhythm all night, and no deep ball threat, and no real shots taken. This offense is not explosive, and that is on the line and the wide outs. Ship and Maffah ran their hearts out, and were what kept us in the game until the back to back fumbles.
I bought tickets to the FSU game, and at this point I almost want to sell them, because I do NOT want to watch this team in person.

What good is the portal going to do you if you get the same results. This loss ,and the loss last season to South Carolina is the result of poor coaching!

The portal allows you to fill holes. Clemson loses players to the NFL draft and to other schools while not backfilling. Ask Wisconsin and Oregon St if they enjoyed their Clemson transfers this past week

Offense didn't look any different. I'm not talking about the results, I'm talking about the play calling. I thought we were going to see a different philosophy. Does Riley have freedom to change things, or is he just running the same playbook?

It is more than the portal. The portal is a crucial element. I think we are in demise because our position coaches are sub par and are not developing players. I t seems they are digressing players instead of developing players. I am withholding judgment at QB because Cade is a rookie and he is playing in midst of a disaster around him.
ALL defensive positions looked terrible. ALL special teams looked Terrible. Offense, with exception of backs, looked terrible.
Our offensive line would probably look better if West Sides O line coach took over for the rest of the season. Our O line is beyond terrible. They are both clueless and fundamentally unsound. On a scale of 1 to 10, they are literally a 2.

I'm not screaming fire Wes - YET, but you are not wrong. Defense looked stale. They weren't anywhere near as intense or violent as we've seen in the past. They didn't attack the ball, they didn't wrap up tackles.
But the real blame is the O-line and the receivers. That and the ball handling at the goal line - which again was all on the line. They let them into the backfield and disrupted at the point of attack and forced two fumbles. Hindsight you do outside runs and you walk in, but even a 1-2 yard loss is better than a turnover. The two blocked field goals - both were on the line. Low kick, sure, but both were on the left side of the line.
We got a long season, and if The defense doesn't step up then I'll be on board for change. But there is no doubt we need change in the WR room and O-line. Coaching, and portal. We need both. This game was 10000% on the offense not being able to score points.

You want to fire Wes. Did his defense lose the ball inside their 5 yard line 3 times. No maybe you ought to look at getting Streeter back because the offense lost this game!

That's funny bc I was screaming fire Goodwin the very minute I heard about bone headed move of appointing two coordinators that had absolutely Z E R O coaching experience at our level of college FB. One had a little bit of experience at the little league level, and the other Z E R O college experience at any level. I think that losing BV and Tony at the same time was to big of a shock for Dabo bc he surely chit his pants replacing them. But that's not the whole story, he has put coaches under them that had even less experience than they did with CJ, Grisham, Austin, and this is why we have lost 3 of our past 4 games. I'm not saying anything that has been kept a secret, this just the way that it is. Dabo had a lot more experience as those 4 coaches that are still with us, but it do seem like Dabo forgot how hard it was for him one he was promoted to HC, and he had way more coaching experience than the guys he has coaching his team today, and these 3 out of 4 losses is the results, and they were losses to two teams that had no business of beating the talent that we have, and out talent two of those teams by a lot and they beat us on the field....

Is it too late to get DJ Ukulele back? Maybe we should try a 4⭐️ QB for a change. The fives are not getting it done. How can you possibly have 29 first downs and 7 pts? Might want to negotiate a running clock with FSU.

I hope this one hurts all the way back to Clemson. Its one thing to lose a hard fought game, it's another to get totally embarrassed. Just my opinion but the way we played tonight their basketball team could have beaten us.

Goes back to strength and conditioning. Drinking fruity drinks with your pinky stiking out is all good. George Dostal is surely missed. I know,I am old. Go Tigers! Fix this coach!
