Trevor Lawrence NFT sells for $225K
Trevor Lawrence mania is getting hotter and hotter by the day. Topps recently released some physical cards that were sold out quickly created by his brother Chase and sister-in-law Brooke. With the success of the traditional cards, the duo decided to work on a few NFTs. “We are honored by the respon Read Update » |

NFT's....things just become crazier and crazier. Never dreamed people would pay very large sums of money for something not tangible. There are those who have paid millions for NFT'S!

There are people that don't have any real sense of the value of money, or they have way more money than they actually need. But hey, each to their own, and if they have like that, and they can afford to waste it, go for it bc, they are helping someone that put in the time, and work to design those trinkets, as I call them!!!

Trevor is very gifted but he has stayed grounded & worked hard to be the #1 pick and is deserving to be rewarded with this prosperity.
I will be cheering him on to be the best ever, it will help our QB recruiting for along time.
Oklahoma has been the place to go for great qb’s but Clemson is taking the show right now.
It’s great for the brand & I’m so grateful as many fans are jealous of what Clemson has become as a team and brand.
Little ole Clemson-> go Tigers!

NFTs at the moment are kind of silly. But the technology behind them is very much technology of the future. The idea is an absolute ledger of proof. The blockchain is a public ledger that anyone can see, and on that blockchain you are THE owner of the NFT. Someone can copy the picture etc sure, but the original is yours. This proof of ownership could be used for tangible objects as well. We’re just seeing the equivalent of the dotcom bubble with this crypto stuff. It’s a very lucrative thing to throw money in right now.

Are you familiar with cryptocurrency?
Apr 29, 2021, 9:45 AM

Basically, NFT's are computer generated images and they're on a block chain, so there's only one. People buy them with their cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, etc.).

That would be an in efficient way to launder money. And you would have a computer trail, when the whole reason to launder money is to make the clean money untraceable. The most simple business you can think of like a laundry mat or car wash is the type of thing that makes a great way to launder money.
I posted on the thread about cryptocurrency that Trevor could make a lot of money with an NFT.
I actually have a theory about money laundering. I don’t know if you have noticed but everywhere you look there are mattress stores. Everywhere I’ll look in Charleston I’ll see a mattress store. There are parts of Charleston where I can be sitting at a traffic light and have three or four mattress stores within eyesight. And mattresses are very expensive these days. But none of these stores ever have cars in the parking lot other than the employees. Yet they are always near an intersection with extremely valuable real estate. How the hell are these companies staying in business? I swear I think these mattress companies are owned by the mafia and used to launder cash.

As someone who just had to purchase 5 new mattress sets, I know exactly how these companies stay in business!

Think baseball card, but it's your computer, as an image, that is the only one in existence, Protected by blockchain, and, the original artist could get royalties from all future sales (say 10%) each time it's sold to a new buyer.

But they cannot own the original piece of art?

It's weird.
I tried to post something on "Christie's" just to see if my kid's art could sell for her.
That said, they said "Christies sells art from secondary markets (galleries, dealers, or previous owners) and are not able to cosign work from individual artists or their representatives. The primary market which is defined as the artists is not in their wheelhouse.
This all said b/c it's like, the person that just bought the TL, can technically resell it, and the original artist makes royalties.
Just adding to this, b/c like I said, all this Facebook money confuses me. LOL

transfer portion will be the most critical piece of NFT.
When there is a company that removes the most friction from uploading, listing, selling and can make the experience easiest to search and buy, then things will really take off. Right now, a lot of companies are doing this, but not doing it well.

Cool pic, reminds me of the Beatles era. Unbelievable, that it is that valuable but I guess back in the day baseball cards were pretty valuable too. Congrats to Chase and Brooke!

Baseball cards are still very valuable. There are people that trade comic books, some of which are worth a lot of money. Go on eBay and look at what it would cost to buy some of the biggest records from the 70s and 80s on vinyl.

The artist or creators can get royalties every time their NFT is sold.
Imagine painters or photographers, or their estates getting paid royalties for their work for the rest of time.

So the physical card set was already out? Somehow missed it....
Anyway, I checked this thing out not realizing what an NFT was and realized I'm officially an "old fart".....

I'm so old I had never heard of NFT before this thread. I still don't know what it stands for and have no idea what it is, othe3r than some virtual sort of computer generated picture posted out there on some cloud.
