I hate to agree but crap happens in the game. I don’t want to think #7 intentionally hit the GA end low and caused the ankle injury. So I’ll gove the App State player the benefit of the doubt.
Hope Woods heals quickly and is back out for NC State.
Go Tigers

Having bad injuries vs App St. is nothing new... Pretty sure it was the last time they came to the valley that their db shoved Mike Williams into the goal post and broke his neck! I find them to be a low rent team full of players that take cheap shots whenever they can.

I wonder if Dabo has seen the same video on this page, bc to me that chop block looks to be totally intentional!!!

Chop blocks are part of the game and it was a legal play. Glad he will be ok.

I guess day to day means until the swelling, soreness, and stiffness goes away but would it have killed him to give a little more elaboration?

That’s because they are season-ending. There is no reason to be secretive. If Woods is day to day, opponents need to prepare for him.

That makes sense. But I also remember guys who were day to day where they say things like, "he got a little banged up and has some swelling so he's day to day but we don't think it's anything serious."
I just worry a little when they do play it a little close to the vest, particularly since we don't play anyone for 2 weeks so no one is preparing for us this week.

Looked like maybe he hyperextended his knee when he was hit. That can leave one very sore, kind of like a charlie horse, but takes longer to heal. All we can do is wait unless Peter Woods wants to say something, but he probably doesn't know how long either. Best wishes to him and I hope he heals quickly. He seems like a good kid.

Yeah, but then ACL surgery. DW4 came back great from that one. I just want Peter Woods to be healthy when he takes the field. He is awesome.
Go Tigers, Wolf Pack next! One game at the time!

Remember, Mafah 's was in the middle of the action and it was a shot to the thigh just above the knee. #87 was work gigging around the ankles on the back side of the play with no chance for #11 PW to make a play. And it was after the OL who couldn't handle him got called for UC out of frustration against PW. Just sayin' may sayers

First off, it was not a chop block. A chop block is a double-team block where one blocker blocks low while another blocker is engaged with the defender. This was a one-on-one block, which makes it a cut block. Cut blocks are legal if the contact is made directly from the front. A cut block is illegal if the contact is from the side or an angle.

If that’s the case, then why was Mahfah’s penalty “blocking below the waist” and not “cut block”.

I think linemen are exempt from the rule vs backs and receivers. Was the App St guy a TE lined up on the LOS?

PWOO will recover quickly and cause havoc this season in the playoffs

Provided they have the playoffs, we will be a dangerous team, it’s an opportunity to win another Championship if our offense continues to produce and Cades growth continues too!
