Out coached, out played and out hustled … embarrassing time management, two FF’s blocked again (do we have a Special Teams Coach)? The team just south of us everyone makes fun of - will curb stomp us. They won’t let off the gas like Louisville ..

Football coaches always fancy themselves as master chess players and war strategists. Football is not that complex: just put the ball in the end zone. You don't do that when a majority of your passes are in the direction of the sideline. To be paid a $11M to get teenagers to put the ball in the end zone is crazy.

I'm not gonna pile on too much i've already commented on many threads tonight........but simply saying "i got my butt out coached tonight" while i do appreciate it, need to do better before it happens or CHANGE DURING THE ACTUAL GAME, instead of waiting too long.
it's like a politician that is failing his state badly and just wants to let citizens of the state "know he is aware" of the problems but not ever doing anything meaningful to correct those problems. for 11 million hate to say it but we need more than just communication that he is aware of the problem.

We just officially went 🌈 and I was embarrassed to walk out that stadium last night…. My season tickets will be donated to the less fortunate
Back to the minors and we probably getting spanked the rest of the year. Thank god we play a powder puff season, could you imagine us playing SEC teams every week.
Walking outta that LSU game in New Orleans before DJ took us to where we live now feels like a lifetime ago. I remember a LSU fan acting extra classy after the game and I went the high road thinking we will be back soon to the big dance 🕺. I don’t think we will ever recover from tonight….
A quote from Dabo “The Waffle House jukebox ain’t playing no songs and all we got is penny’s in our pockets”. It was good but it’s over 🫡

I don’t understand why people are saying “it’s over now”. It’s been over. We’ve been a middling team for four seasons. We pretty much are the team that showed up against Georgia. We feasted on a few bad teams, and then we ran into a decent team in Louisville. We got thumped. What I saw over Oline and Dline last night, is not encouraging

Our game plan was terrible. Halftime adjustments were nonexistent. Much of what we did was so predictable that it appeared UL had our signals.

We sure telegraphed blitzes in obvious blitz situations.
And not for the first time this season.
It’s not as if our LBs and DBs are too inexperienced to be coached into how to disguise their intentions to blitz when they all crowd the line of scrimmage pre-snap.

This is the guy we pay 11 million bucks a year to field a team that is a national championship contender every year. He started this, he put together a staff that won us two championships. Now those guys are gone and he doesn't have the football knowledge or coaching ability to do it again or even come close. At least we have a team full of great young men but they just can't compete with any of the other teams that matter.

We have know about FG special teams issues all year and failed to fix them. too late to come into postgame presser and take the blame. everyone across the country witnessed the lack of coaching, preparation, and no one had any doubts as to where the blame lies. this is a bad look for DABO and his coordinator hires have sealed his fate. Wes Goodwin is lost, never even been an on the field coach before and yet he is leading a once great defense at Clemson???? Sad fact is that there is a serious lack of talent and speed on defense and there is no fixing that. the portal may not be what he wants to do but fact is your competition used it to add virtually what amounts to a 2nd recruiting class . meanwhile Clemson refused to do it and now the results are disastrous. it is like taking a knife to a gunfight. Dabo's strengths have always been recruiting and hiring top notch assistants. he has failed miserably on both accounts here and now.

I’ve been saying for years the problem is Dabo is filthy rich and he doesn’t really care anymore. It’s obvious when you hire family and friends, cross your arms and shake your head at taking any transfers, and continuing to hang on to certain coaches when it’s clear they are not up to snuff. Streeter was just a scapegoat, he should’ve never been put into the OC position, and that’s on Dabo

It is really hard to blame anyone for this loss. if you react emotionally it is easy to throw blame. Dabo didn't miss any tackles. I really believe our guys didn't think this was gonna be a tough game . Dabo is a good coach and this hurts all of us. We have 4 more games to turn it around and see what happens. ALL WE CAN DO FROM HERE is show up ready to play and win out. Go Tigers!!!!!

I don't know if facts support it, but it seems to me that since the first quarter of the FSU game we have gone back to conservative play calling on offense and copied the philosophy on defense. We are not having big plays on offense, to me, because we are not trying them.
On defense, I seem to remember us blitzing more. When Peter Woods is healthy, maybe we don't need to, but there seems to be very little pressure when he is out of the game. The Jimmys and Joes that we have on defense should not be putting a product on the field that looked like last night.

What happened last night as a direct result of a stubborn head coach that overly involves himself in an offense, he has no business being in. That wasn’t Garrett Riley’s offense last night and anybody with half a brain can see that. Not saying you didn’t see it, but just stating the obvious.
It’s definitely not the same offense we’ve seen since before the Virginia game.

The first half was a disaster. How many times do you have to get Rob Spence on the phone to understand bubble screens, tunnel screens and wide sweeping runs from reversing wide receivers do not work against a fast intelligent team. After about the 10th time-wouldn’t you kinda figure that out. Player preparedness—-how can you be prepared for a total misdiagnosis with not much ability to think on your feet. Cade has got to be hurting . Played his heart out with a ###### written by first graders and then got sacrificed on several occasions—as a coach I would think SHAME would be resting heavy on my shoulders for abusing the kid. MAFAH IS A MAN! He ran hard even with there were no holes. 6 guys can’t block 9 on a run play. Receivers can’t get open long when 2 deep safeties are parked and waiting.
Overall, there was plenty of effort from the team. They just were not coached-especially on defense-to even know where to go. CHOP blocks are illegal my ACC officiating friends. Their cut blocks were as close as you can get to chops as I’ve ever seen. Neutralize a superior athlete by taking out his knees. Even with that, there are schemes around a line who -tackle to tackle-dive at opposing players knees.
Offense-a lot of money for plays which were not as good as ones drawn on playgrounds with sticks at recess
…and exactly WHO is in charge of blocking assignments on extra points and FGs??
Overall, for a lifetime fan,- a frustrating, humiliating and embarrassing display of a team from coaching that was clueless. Change 2 or 3 things from expectations and the 5 five plays for the night do not work
There seems to be way too much diversion of our coaching staff from game planning. Louisville made a very intelligent game plan and executed. We figured throwing balls to the sidelines because the safeties were back but their fast linebackers were up was somehow going to work and that MAFAH the man could run through a hole that was not there.
However despite all this embarrassment, the worst think was when trashy red neck people started to throw water bottles on the field . You want to do that stay home and play cornhole at the Columbia SC trailer park recreational facilities. .

Most.of what you said is spot on. I would add, DO NOT OVER PURSUE. Many of the teams that have had success against our guys in the past couple/few seasons have some degree of delay in their play development. Same for last night. And when their o-line was about to cave, they took a play or 2 off and dove at the knees and laid/rested on the ground. I would have instructed our D-line to step on their heads and simply walk over the top of them.

I saw a few of our linemen jump over the dorks. However, cleat marks on black helmets are a nice look. Funny I thought the choke hold and jersey grab were considered holding. Guess I missed that in the rule book.

This isn’t new. I love Dabo, will support him as long as he wants to be at Clemson, but we do NOT play to the standard every week and never really have. Even Pitt in 2016. Syracuse in 2018. There’s always a couple of games every season where we come out flat and play down to the competition. The only years we’ve overcome it have been when we have strong senior leadership on the field (Boulware, Wilkins). The coaching staff has not managed to crack how to get these kids to care every single week; it’s the hardest part about winning in CFB but the best manage to do it.
I didn’t see what Coach saw last night. I saw an apathetic and unfocused group missing assignment after assignment and getting out-hustled and outmuscled at every turn. To look like that out of a bye makes me think they’d drunk their own kool-aide more than a little. Say what you will about Saban, but that’s why he coached the way he coached; rigid and unflinching attention to detail and pride in execution is how to maintain a standard.

I don't think 🤔 I'm some great football IQ coach but some of the plays that get called are so stupid they should just give the ball back to the opponent. I mean I've noticed 8 out 10 times these screen throws out to the side are a waste 🗑 of a down and could someone please explain to me a player for a run or a 5 yard pass when you're not in field goal range and you have 18 yards to go to a 1st down?

"I don’t make no excuses," Swinney said. "There’s no excuses. None. That ain’t got nothing to do with it. Flat out got my butt out-coached tonight."
Not much evidence of university-level literacy in that statement -- especially coming from the highest paid public sector employee in the state.
