HAlf of the time these guys just want pay increases for their ego's more than their happiness. Its driven by their agents. Once you get a nice chunk of change in your account then start looking to achieve some actual professional goals. When CAM Newton took his big deal with CArolina it handcuffed them from getting more talent because too much was being paid to him. Its why Brady has 6 super bowls, he was never tops in the league in Pay...but to be honest, it does help to marry a supermodel who makes more than you ever will.

.....the taxes he is paying is not that much compared to what he is bringing home.
Not sure at all what his financial responsibilities are....but if I'm making way more than I have to pay on a daily basis then I guess that is cool not to worry about making less.

I, too, was very impressed with his handling of the interview. Also, I liked the new look without the "dred's". I hadn't seen him with a haircut, but I don't watch pro FB anymore, so it may not be that new. JMO, of course. I'ms sure some will disagree. That's cool.

Sammy realizes that less money over a longer time period is better than more money and getting cut in a year or so and bouncing around and possibly out of the NFL after 3 more years. That attitude will keep him healthier as the coach and team won't try to push him out there all the time and gives the team more money for back up players and other starters.
What a rare situation we have just witnessed. Good on you Sammy!
